LFW AW11: Betty Jackson a Red Delight

One thing I got from Betty Jackson’s autumn/winter 2011 is that red is most certainly going to be the colour of the season, and that she wants to keep us very warm!!

There was lots of red texture at Betty Jackson’s show, with fleece long-length dresses and skirts, and panels to the jackets, bulk-yet-chic. I am sure that this trend will hit the high-street, because come on who doesn’t want to keep warm, but all the bulk needs to be worn wisely and I am sure that will create some fashion disasters come next winter!

One thing that surprised me *and I am not sure why*, was the high-quality handbags that were sent down the runway. I know that Betty Jackson does an amazing accessories collection as part of her Debenhams collection but I hadn’t really considered her bags for her main line before, until now. Each time a bag came out, whether it was a clutch or a tote, was gorgeous and I loved the coordinated coloured corners. My favourite has to be the large black one with the chain strap.

For some I am sure that this collection doesn’t have the wow factor, but for me I love how wearable nearly all the pieces were. From the roll-neck knit maxi, the large blossomed flower print dresses, the chunky knit jumpers *the red one above teamed with trousers is amazing*, the belted coats made from a mixture of luxurious alpacas and the ragged wooly lace dresses and jumpers.

The only thing I wasn’t really loving were the cream tights and white Mary-Jane heels, but hey this is me just being a little picky, overall a gorgeous collection.
