The Daks show may have been an early start at 9am but it didn’t disappoint with the quintessential British tailoring house going for an edgier feel. Under new creative director, Filippo Scuffi, the autumn/winter collection drew its inspiration from the world of aviation, which was reflected not only with the jumpsuits but the palette of strong winter greys, blacks, charcoal and navy. Using the RAF as inspiration the grey ‘flyingsuits’ with leather caplets were one of the key pieces for me, alongside the long cable knit cardigan and dress. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MrNNLZXmLA I love it when fashion houses decided to take their art in a different direction and Reem Acra decided for her AW10 R-T-W collection she decided against tradition and a runway show and opted for an edgy video presentation. The moody and sensual film, ‘Do You Love Me?’, showed off the youthful collection, full of draping, sequins, edgy embroidery and those gorgeous black bows added to everything. I love this film – sophisticated and seductive at the same time, I love the styling, the models red lippy is fierce.
This is one of my favourite designer collaborations with H&M from the wonderful Sonia Rykiel. Following on from the success of her lingerie collection she has gone for brilliant colour and classic knits this spring. Hitting only 200 H&M store worldwide on Saturday, February 20, The collection is full of classic Rykiel signatures, and for me bright candy colours like the pink and yellow dresses make this range – but the striped sweaters are to-die for. Some of the pieces show the demure side of Saint Germain style, like the double-breasted blazer or the sweet short skirt, while elsewhere the
Victoria Beckham’s dresses have gathered quite the celebrity following with Courteney Cox wearing to the Emmy’s, Jennifer Hudson to the Grammy’s, last month Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the White House, and one of her frocks has even been seen on a Gossip Girl which means she’s making the weeklies – that is when she is not wearing her own designs. The autumn/winter collection was given a small presentation in the New York town house made famous in Sex and the City, to a select number of fashion editors, check out this video clip of Victoria introducing her collection.
