I’m currently in the process of planning our big summer holiday, granted ours won’t be until October, in case you are wondering we are thinking of island hopping in Malaysia, but it got me thinking that I would probably need to stock up on holiday pieces now while they are in the shops, which of course led me to a huge shopping list, some of which are below as this week’s Friday Favourites. I’ve stuck with the essentials, everything you need really to enjoy a summer holiday by the beach – from the gorgeous straw bag that I can’t believe
OK, so I might be getting a little ahead of myself, possibly even jinxing us, but can we please all agree that this gorgeous summery weather means that we are finally going to get a great summer. I’m feeling all positive that this week’s Friday Favourites is dedicated to the 7 summer shoes that you are going to need. We have a new style from Converse, more feminine and in silver, we have the effortless cool flatform wedge, the classic espadrille sandal and there’s even a bedazzled pair of comfortable loafers in the mix. I’ve put together a mixture of pieces, another cold shoulder top, I’m obsessed, statement to subtle florals, as well as a few neutral basics, to wear with those statement pieces, and a 90’s vibes denim jacket with lots of badges on. Basically, this is a what I want to be wearing this spring.
Spring/summer 2016 it seems is the season of the shoulders, as designers look to subtle sexy and effortlessly chic. The catwalks were filled with shoulder moments from off-the-shoulder tops to asymmetrical necklines, however, my favourite, a nod to the 90s has to be shoulder cutouts or as the kids are now calling it, the cold shoulder. Everyone from Christopher Kane, Issa, Rebecca Minkoff, Ellery and Proenza Schouler sent their models down the catwalk showing off their shoulders, and it’s hardly surprising as who doesn’t like their shoulders. Come on, if you had to name one unflattering part of your body, I bet
