As a Barbie girl, I’ve been obsessed by the creative magazine editorial’s from around the globe following my favourite dolls fashion resurgence helped along by the amazing Barbie-inspired Moschino spring/summer 2015 collection. First we had Vogue Paris re-creating Barbie as real-life designer dolls, complete with the lust worthy accessories inside a box, and now it seems Vogue Japan and Anna Dello Russo have gone one better with their editorial starring the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley doing her best Barbie impression, and it is spot on.
It has been a while since a magazine cover actually excited me like these Tim Walker masterpieces for W Magazine’s annual movie issue featuring the top nominees ahead of the award season. Walker has snapped 39 nominees from Emma Stone, looking like a broken doll, to Julianne Moore, looking like she could be sisters with Effie from The Hunger Games, and even a very creepy Bradley Cooper dressed in a white. I have to be honest I was on the fun and cool side. Sometimes fashion takes itself way too serious and I love that Rodarte do generally step out and do something different. Granted I can’t see the average Joe wearing these pieces, or even a celebrity on a red carpet, but they really are made for an editorial shoot and I love that Paper magazine for their
The other day I was a very un-intellectual conversation with one of my good friends about Sean Combs aka P Diddy aka Puff Daddy aka Puffy, yep the guy who has more name changes than Prince, about remembering how before Kanye West he was the hip-hop guy that fashion loved to hate, or in my friend and I’s case – just love, love, love!!! You see we were kind of more obsessed with his swagger, his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, come on I don’t think J-Lo would have worn that incredible tropical printed Versace gown if she hadn’t been with
