Beauty Bytes: Chloé’s Fringe Love Affair

I have a love-hate affair with my fringe, when cut well I adore it, when cut badly or getting too long I despise it – but seeing Chloé’s stunning spring/summer 2014 campaign makes me realise how much I do love fringes.

The care-free seventies feel to this ‘last weekend of summer’ campaign is perfection, not only do I wish I was a Chloé girl like Lou Doillon and Julia Stegner, I also need to know the key to their impeccable bangs.

Each shot is amazing, I love the contrast between the blonde and brunette styles, but my favourite shot has to be how their fringes sit behind those oversized sunglasses – now if only I could look as chic with my out-of-control hair!!!

Do you have a love-hate affair with your fringe?

SS14 Campaign: Mulberry’s Animal Tea Party

Once again Mulberry has put together a whimsical English rose setting for its spring/summer 2014 ad campaign starring a very girlie looking Cara Delevingne in an animal tea-party themed shoot.

Not only is the concept cute, the styling of Cara by Edward Enninful is the most demure I have ever seen her look, she looks every inch the archetypal English rose – however I do think the animals are grabbing most of the attention!!!

I do love a charming English tea party, but I think I adore Mulberry’s take even more, with a white pony, a Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican and two cockatoos, apparently called Archie and Spud taking centre stage – it just shows that even for a model like Cara it is hard to compete with gorgeous animals – especially the pony, Dusty isn’t she just a darling.

I really do think that Tim Walker and Mulberry is a match made in heaven – I love this cute and quirky ad campaign.

Are you a fan of Cara’s new Mulberry campaign?

American Music Awards: Lady Gaga Brings Alive Versace Campaign

Who: Lady Gaga

Where: At the 2013 American Music Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A chiffon lilac Versace gown from the spring/summer 2014 collection, assessorised with a body chain with two silver medusa medallions at the front and lilac Versace heels

Verdict: Just hours before her AMA red carpet appearance, Lady Gaga was named the face of Versace’s SS14 campaign with an ad shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, so in true Gaga style she decided to bring that campaign to life by wearing a very similar look.

Of course, because it is Gaga there was also a white mechanical horse, which was operated by two people underneath and she rode onto the red carpet with her blonde locks flowing doing her best damsel in distress.

I love the campaign image, I love the lilac colour to the gown and the cut-outs, and I am so pleased that she went for a longer style on the red carpet. But I think my favourite thing about this look has to be the styling of the body chain with two silver medusa medallions – that is just pure Versace and works perfectly.

Lady Gaga was apparently named the new face of the Italian fashion house because she is part of the family, anyone else think it is because she is morphing into Donatella?

What do you think of Lady Gaga’s latest red carpet look? Are you a fan of her Versace platinum blonde locks?

Ad Campaign: Jennifer Lawrence For Miss Dior

For her first Miss Dior campaign, Jennifer Lawrence was very couture, statuesque and elegant, for her follow-up it seems that the French fashion house has simply just gone with the star’s natural beauty for a more relaxed, stripped-backed vibe.

There is something about Jennifer that appeals across the board, she is beautiful but not in an OTT way, she is hilarious, she seems very grounded and doesn’t court the craziness of fame – plus she has the talent. For me her second campaign for Miss Dior really sells the qualities that everyone loves about the actress, her personality, while also helping the French label appeal to the average woman. I think it is a clever move as every woman wants a designer handbag.

I’m captivated by this campaign shot by Dan Jackson. Jennifer looks gorgeous with minimal make-up on, her hair is cute, and I love that chic-yet-simple grey woollen coat that lets the Miss Dior quilted handbag with chain-strap really shine. I think the blush pink one has been added to my handbag wish list!!!

What are you thoughts on a nearly bare-faced Jennifer Lawrence in Miss Dior’s latest campaign?
