Video Loving: Alexander McQueen’s Trippy AW12 Campaign

mcqueen Video Loving: Alexander McQueens Trippy AW12 Campaign %tag

I brought you the striking and futuristic autumn/winter 2012 print campaign for Alexander McQueen earlier this month, well the British fashion house has released the accompanying film, which has also been shot by David Sims.

I warn you, if you are a little hungover, have a headache from all this sun we’ve been having or not that keen on crazy motion films then possible this campaign isn’t for you – however, if like me you like a little crazy then you are in for a treat.

Featuring Finnish model Suvi Koponen and her gorgeous futuristic visor this is a psychedelic and colourful film that kind of has an 80′s vibe about it with the raving tripping motion, which I loved and it worked perfectly with the visor.

So, back to those visors that were a hit on the catwalk and they’ve been amazing in fashion editorials – but do you heart them enough to buy? Well, they are now available to buy online at Alexander McQueen’s website and in-store for £270. I wonder how many people will be wearing them at fashion week!!!

Beauty: Is Gulliver’s Travels Lady Gaga’s Favourite Movie?

ladygaga Beauty: Is Gulliver’s Travels Lady Gagas Favourite Movie? %tag

When it was announced that Lady Gaga was releasing her own fragrance I have to admit I was more excited to see what the campaign imagery would look like – and oh my words she certainly hasn’t disappointed.

Shot by Steven Klein, who has worked with Gaga before on her video Alejandro, it shows Gaga naked wearing just a black eye mask, oh and tiny men strategically placed climbing her body, check out the little man smelling her armpit, and the bottle of Fame is delicately place on her hand.

The image was released via Gaga’s social media site, LittleMonsters.com as well as on Twitter, which Gaga added:

Don’t get me wrong, she looks stunning, but come on surely the first thing we have to discuss is whether anyone else got a Gulliver’s Travels vibe from this image? Please say it isn’t just me.

After seeing this bizarre advert and the branded that claims it is the first ever black eau de parfum, and the crazy rumours from it smelling like blood and semen, which isn’t true apparently Grazia is reporting is smells more like an expensive hooker, which is much better. Even with all that I am intrigued to smell this scent, which launches in September, and I am sure will be a top seller.

Will you be buying Lady Gaga’s debut fragrance, Fame?

AW12 Campaign: Mila Kunis Embodies Old-Hollywood Glamour For Dior

milakunisdior AW12 Campaign: Mila Kunis Embodies Old Hollywood Glamour For Dior %tag

There is something special about Mila Kunis, of course she is gorgeous, but it is something else that draws me in, I think it is because she is a bit of a chameleon. This is the girl who can rock double denim on the cover of Glamour to embodying old-Hollywood glamour for a high-end advertising campaign – that is hard to do.

This is her second campaign as the face of Miss Dior handbags and I love the Fifties Hollywood film star vibe to the gorgeous black and white shots. Last time around the campaign was demure, this time I am loving the bouffant hair, the retro paparazzi mob, and the incredible Dior gown that she is wearing.

Captured in Los Angeles by photographer Mario Sorrenti and styled by former Paris Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld this is a beautiful campaign - Mila is an elegant beauty in this striking ad and I am sure it will jump off the page when I see it in a magazine as well. I also hear that there is a short film with the campaign – I can’t wait to see that.

Do you like Mila Kunis as the face of Miss Dior?

AW12 Campaign: Alexander McQueen’s Futuristic Adverts

If you’ve picked up the August issue of Vogue you will have seen the striking 2012 ad campaign from Alexander McQueen it really does standout on the page. I have to be honest when I saw the autumn/winter 2012 show with the futuristic visors, the gorgeous fuchsia tiered gowns, and the heel-less shoes I was excited to see how the ad campaign would turn out, and I am certainly not disappointed.

Shot by David Sims and starring Finnish model Suvi Koponen this is a gorgeous campaign. I just love the futuristic vibe, it is as if Suvi with her slicked blonde hair and visor is a beauty from outer space and has just landed on an origami planet.

Did anyone else flick back to it when they saw it in Vogue?

AW12 Campaign: Chloe Sevigny Returns For Miu Miu

ChloeMiuMiu AW12 Campaign: Chloe Sevigny Returns For Miu Miu %tag

Miu Miu have taken a trip back in time and recruited a former face actress and style icon Chloe Sevigny to front their autumn/winter 2012 collection and it seems they’ve taken inspiration from British pop star David Bowie from the ’70s.

Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, I like this campaign, the quirky pose, the OTT make-up, the very bright and funky printed trousers, and most of all her sipping tea, very Lady Gaga!!!

We should have known that Chloe was planning to reprise her roll for Miu Miu after she wore the brand to the Met Gala, I can only think that a lucrative contract was the reason behind her wearing this barely there ’60s-inspired black mirrored geometric patchwork mini-dress, granted it makes her standout and suits her out-there personality, but I just didn’t feel this look.

But with Chloe returning to the Miu Miu fold it made me nostalgic for previous celebrity faces and who else I would love to see come back, and top of my list had to be Katie Holmes do you remember her fiery campaign in 2009 also shot by Mert & Marcus, now that would be a great way to come out on top from a divorce!!!

What do you think of Chloe’s Miu Miu ad? And, would you want to see Katie Holmes back as a Miu Miu face?

Beauty: Kristen Stewart’s First Fragrance Campaign

BalenciagaKristen Beauty: Kristen Stewarts First Fragrance Campaign %tag

After all the excitement of Blake Lively’s first fragrance campaign for Gucci I had totally forgotten that the first image for Kristen Stewart’s were due this week. I have to admit, when I first heard back in January that Kristen was due to be the new face of Balenciaga’s latest fragrance, ‘Florabotanica’, I wasn’t surprised Nicolas Ghesquière does love her, but I wasn’t wowed by the idea either, but I was intrigued to see what the imagery would look like.

Unlike most fragrance adverts this isn’t sexy or alluring rather odd and Kristen’s pose looks slightly uncomfortable and out-of-place among the metal floral structures. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, Balenciaga is aiming this new fragrance at a younger crowd, so I am think the aim of this Steven Meisel campaign is just to be cool, and it does quite a good job of that with Kristen rocking a gorgeous OTT floral dress.

It is quite a futuristic-psychedelic advert that I kind of feel needs to be accompanied by a dark and moody soundtrack, which of course is very much Kristen’s territory from her Twilight background, so it makes me wonder if we might see a short film to launch the fragrance in September like with Blake’s Gucci Premiere – now that will be an interesting head-to-head!!!

The fragrance itself is inspired by the 2008 collection that featured “nasty” and “nice” flowers, and the composition of notes of vetiver, amber and caladium-leaf accord, a hybrid rose, carnation and mint accord is suppose to offer a floral character that is very seductive and it’s flowers will not be just beautiful, but also very dangerous. I am serious intrigued and so want to smell it – sounds amazing.

The fragrance hits select stores in the US, Canada and France come September – but for some reason the UK date wasn’t announced – hopefully not long after the initial launch.

Gucci Première: Blake Lively Channels Old-Hollywood Glamour

gucci Gucci Première: Blake Lively Channels Old Hollywood Glamour %tag

Since I heard the news that Blake Lively was the face of Gucci’s upcoming Gucci Première fragrance, named after and inspired by the brand’s red carpet collection, I have to admit I was excited to see the campaign being shot by Mert & Marcus. The first preview of the campaign, ahead of the Nicolas Winding Refn short film, which will premiere during the Venice Film Festival in September, hit Twitter this morning and I was in awe at how gorgeous it was.

Marking Blake Lively’s first fragrance campaign this print ad just shows that she was the perfect face to front this new luxury fragrance as she really does have an Old-Hollywood feel about her, especially with her Veronica Lake hairstyle.

I love the styling, her fully embellished sequinned open-back gown is exquisite, team that with her undeniable beauty, and the shot into the mirror and this is just a truly gorgeous campaign and it has totally left me wanting more and even more excited about the short film.

What do you think of this campaign? Do you think Blake was the right face for the campaign?
