Project 365: Day 139 – The Secret Door

Day139 Project 365: Day 139 The Secret Door %tag

What I love about Cambridge has to be all the cute eccentricities dotty about the place, and one of my favourites has to be all the secret doors, beautifully carved in wood – I just love the mystery surrounding what’s behind the door!!!

Project 365: Day 138 – H&M’s Bejewelled Baseball Cap

Day138 Project 365: Day 138 H&Ms Bejewelled Baseball Cap %tag

I have seen a lot of good and some not so good at press days recently but nothing has caught my attention as much as this bejewelled baseball cap from H&M. Instantly as soon as I saw it I knew that this was going to be one of those things that is going to be huge come the autumn. Twitter went crazy for H&M’s sparkly collection and I have to admit I am also loving this sequinned jumper.

Project 365: Day 137 – Adorable Petal Bike Basket

Day137 Project 365: Day 137 Adorable Petal Bike Basket %tag

I am being to appreciate living near Cambridge more and more, I have to admit at first I found the city a little small, jam-packed full of tourists, and a pain in the arse to park **it is still that**, however lately over the past year since I went freelance I have really loved having such a beautiful place to recharge my batteries.

What I love is that you generally always see something pretty, whether it is the cows that roam freely in the fields near the river in the centre of town, or the traditional dress of the college stewards, or the gorgeous flowers on the market, and today I spied the most adorable flower petal embellished bike basket. I love this so much I want a bike to do the same!!!

Project 365: Day 136 – The Mulberry Crown At Harrods

Day136 Project 365: Day 136 The Mulberry Crown At Harrods %tag

Today was an early start all about ballgowns and crowns at Harrods and the V&A and it was amazing. First stop was Harrods where they’ve transformed the store into a very patriotic scene to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee, think lots of Union Jack flags, and windows filled with crowns.

Everyone from De Beers and Tiffany & Co, to Paul Smith and Prada and even beauty brand’s Shu Uemura and Jo Malone have designed a special crown just for Harrods and they are all on display in the store’s windows.

It isn’t the best shot, the traffic is crazy so always reflects on the glass, but I just had to share this amazing crown covered in ‘hundreds and thousands’ candy pieces designed by Mulberry. As soon as I saw it I was in awe, don’t get me wrong I love the jewels of the traditional designed crowns, but come on this is fun and  different and I am loving the addition of the cushion designed like a classic English Victoria sponge cake for it to sit on.

The Harrods Brompton Road windows filled with crowns and ballgowns will be on display until June 15 so get down and check out them out.

Project 365: Day 134 – This Picture Sums Up My Fab Weekend

Day134 Project 365: Day 134 This Picture Sums Up My Fab Weekend %tag

This weekend has been amazing as I have had friend over to stay, and generally it has been filled with lots of catching up, great conversation, exploring Cambridge, eating lots, staying up late, and even included helping an injured dog.

This picture was taken at one of my favourite places, Wimpole Hall, which I have featured on my Project 365 a number of times, and it was nice to have a casual walk around the grounds this afternoon with my friends Jim and Sarah. They may have both needed a little convincing to climb up onto this fallen down tree – but I love this picture a lot, and as Sarah would say it is definitely “one for the wall of fame”!!!

Project 365: Day 133 – Cambridge Cream Tea

Day133 Project 365: Day 133 Cambridge Cream Tea %tag

Today, was the best remedy for such a shocking week, a day spent exploring Cambridge with friends, it was just such a fun and enjoyable day. We didn’t do anything too strenuous except walk for miles, we took in the sites, admired the architecture, took lots of photographs, climbed a tower, chuckled at people attempting to punt, and finished off the day with the best afternoon tea I have had in years.
