LFW AW13: The Apartment Photo Booth

the apartment pb me LFW AW13: The Apartment Photo Booth %tag

I have been in need of a cheer up this past week or so, and to clear my head I have been going through all my London Fashion Week stuff, it may only be five days but I really do pick up lots of show notes and goodies, and I came across all the amazing pictures I took with my friends in The Apartment’s photo booth.

As well as being a haven to just chill, have my hair and make-up done, borrow amazing clothes and accessories, pick up cute pieces of jewellery from Claire’s, and see all my blogger pals, one of my favourite things this season at Abi Marvel’s The Apartment had to be the photo booth, which I frequented a lot!!!

There were too many piccies to share them all, but here are a few of my favourites featuring the gorgeous Sherin, Alex and Kate – oh and a few solo snaps of me – I just couldn’t resist that cat-eared hat.

My Style: Day Five At London Fashion Week

OOTD Day5 yellow pow My Style: Day Five At London Fashion Week %tag

The final day and even though my fashion flu has come on early I will be sad to see this fashion week go – I have enjoyed the spectacle, seeing the collections, and generally pushing myself to try new things with my outfits. So we’ve had boyfriend jeans, some sneaker love, a statement blazer, a pinafore dress and today’s look is a ‘boom’ ‘pow’ ‘zap’ of a look as I channel my inner super hero.

When I saw this skirt online at Topshop I love it, I was also worried I wasn’t cool or skinny enough to pull it off, but when I tried it on I really liked how fun it was and all the colours. I did plan on buying a red jumper to match the ‘boom’ but then I spied this neon yellow jumper in Toppers and it was a OTT colour match made in heaven.

Finishing up my colourful look is this gorgeous 13inch cobalt blue Cambridge Satchel Company bag that I borrowed from the Covent Garden stores lending library, I just couldn’t resist it – great colour, big enough to fit my iPad in and tickets, but not too big that it overpowers the look – plus I love carrying it like an oversized clutch.

The only thing with test driving a new Cambridge Satchel is now I am creating a mental list on why it ends to become a permenate member of the Fashionista Barbie bag collection!!!

My Style: Day Four At London Fashion Week

Fashionista barbie My Style: Day Four At London Fashion Week %tagDay four at London Fashion Week always makes me question what day it is, I know it is Monday, but my body is saying it is Thursday already!!! With that in mind I have brought out my favourite flats – my Russell & Bromley patent brogues, super comfortable, go with everything, and I love that they make my feet super tiny.

As each day I tried to work a trend or a key look that I am loving at the moment, today was all about the pinafore dress as everywhere from River Island, where mine is from, to Topshop and H&M have gorgeous ones at the moment. I have to be honest I was a little worried about the fit as my straps kept falling down and then I realised that you could adjust them, I wasn’t sure how to layer up without losing the cute shape of the dress as it is quite thin.

I decided to just pair it with a slouchy white tee, I tried jumpers and a shirt but it just kept making it look bulky. To nip in my waist I used my cute red bow belt that looked great against the black and white, and unlike other days where I have been wearing silver jewellery I decided to go for gold pieces as I really wanted to wear this adorable stag necklace from Wonsuponatime, a fairly new online jewellery boutique that I’ve fallen in love with.

My Style: Day Three At London Fashion Week

OOTD LFW Day3 gap My Style: Day Three At London Fashion Week %tag

Day three and the sun has been shining all day, granted still not that warm, but I don’t mind shivering when it is bright. Once again, another look, another shade of pink – so we’ve had a bright pink jumper, bright pink accessories and today I went for my new Gap blazer which I picked up in the sale last weekend.

Considering a blazer is a wardrobe staple I only seem to have two very ill-fitted ones so I thought it was time to invest for fashion week as you can dress an outfit up or down with one and lots of my friends recommended Gap. When I saw this bright pink beauty I couldn’t resist, even more so when it was £20 off – serious bargain that I am sure to wear all-year round.

As the trim of the blazer is a dark grey I thought it would make the bright pink stand out even more if the rest of my outfit was charcoal grey and black – and I think this is one of my favourite looks for a while.

As you know if you follow me on Twitter I love jeans but like most people I struggle to find styles that fit and look flattering and a number of my followers answered my pleas for help and suggested Uniqlo, a shop I love for t-shirts but have never tried for denim, but I have seriously been missing out.

These dark grey beauties are from the super soft, super stretchy skinny range, and I can assure you they are exactly that, they are just so flattering and for a long time putting skinny jeans on didn’t make me feel instantly fat. Plus they are super long, I have them turned up as wearing with boots today, but in the summer I will actually be able to wear jeans with flats and not feel like I am showing half my leg off!!!

Finishing off my look is my trusty Osprey London bag, this is so perfect for fashion week – classic colour, classic design and fits everything from my iPad, tickets, make-up, chocolate, phone, diary, notepad, pens, etc, etc, in, as well as my Ice-Watch, which sadly has the wrong date on it, my Topshop ankle boots that I am literally wearing to death, and a new statement necklace from New Look.

My Style: Day Two At London Fashion Week

OOTD LFW Day2 dolls My Style: Day Two At London Fashion Week %tag

Day two and I am already a little tired, yesterday was incredible I saw so many gorgeous collections and today was another early start and late finish.

I started with a Woolmark breakfast at the ME London, which is the new hotel opposite Somerset House that you might remember from my Warehouse press day post, it has the most incredible view that I couldn’t resist having my style piccies done there, and ended the day with Rihanna’s debut clothing collection for River Island.

With the long day, the feeling that I might be queuing a bit for Rihanna, in the end it was only 50 minutes late, and with the general running around, I went for my bright Nike trainers as they are super comfortable and work really well with a skater skirt.

As you know I like a statement t-shirt and a skater skirt and trainer combo deserves a good one and I have been saving my Zoe Karssen ‘Valley of the Dolls’ tee since I snapped it off The Outnet late last year. I kind of think this t-shirt was made for me, and like most people this fashion week monochrome looks have been all the rage, and I always think black and white works perfectly with bright pink accessories!!!

Sadly I took my style piccies so early, like 9am, I didn’t have time to get my make-up professionally done, I did rectify that later on in the day when I popped by the Handpicked Media suite and the lovely Bourjois team did me the exactly catwalk look they did for Zoe Jordan’s show yesterday. I just love the subtle cat-flick on my eyes and the pink lips.

My Style: Day One At London Fashion Week

My style LFW day1 My Style: Day One At London Fashion Week %tag

Today has been a busy day, tons of shows, catching up with friends some of which I only seem to see twice a year, being pampered at The Apartment run by friend Abi – the lovely girlies at Rimmel did my make-up, and for the first time in about eight seasons I actually got street style snapped – not once but twice, seriously small pleasures really do make me smile.

This fashion week I have decided to work some of the trends/looks I love most right now, first up is boyfriend jeans, granted I would have loved to wear a strappy heel with them but the cold made me go for my comfortable, wear in any weather Topshop ankle boots. I must have tried on about 20 pairs of boyfriend style jeans on the high street, and 19 of them look awful, but then I tried these ‘Sexy Boyfriend’ style at Gap and I fell in love with them.

What I love about this look, other than the fact I was extremely comfortable, has to be the pop of colour from my Primark jumper, which worked perfectly with the gorgeous white broderie trim shirt from the Glamour for Very collection, and the super cute Angelica London necklace that I picked up at Task PR’s LFW gifting suite last week. I also really adore my new Mickey Mouse ‘Mmwwaah – seriously how cute is that.My style LFW day1 close up My Style: Day One At London Fashion Week %tag

LFW SS13: Fyodor Golan – The Holy Mountain

SS13FyodorGolan6 LFW SS13: Fyodor Golan The Holy Mountain %tagFashion Fringe is developing an impressive alumni, Corrie Nielsen provides the couture, Erdem is the floral king, and Jena.Theo are the masters of cool and wearable, and I think it is safe to say that Fyodor Golan has settled in perfectly, and each season the duo get better and better.

For spring/summer 2013, the design duo were inspired by the Blue Tattoo, a true story about a Victorian girl travelling through the desert when her and her family are attacked by Native Americans, and ‘The Holy Mountain’ by Alejandro Jodorowsky, leading to a vibrant collection filled with Aztec and Mayan elements, broken porcelain china prints, and a rich colour palette of Royal blues, dessert hues, and a pop of pink.

SS13FyodorGolan7 LFW SS13: Fyodor Golan The Holy Mountain %tag

What stood out the most about this collection, other than the gorgeous billowing silhouettes and the theatrical vibe, had to be wearability of the designs. This was a collection with maturity, it showcased the extraordinary talent of Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman perfectly, and really put their label on the global fashion stage. I know that they are already stocked in Harvey Nichols and boutiques around the world but this feminine collection with a luxe edge will be very much in demand next season.

SS13FyodorGolan2 LFW SS13: Fyodor Golan The Holy Mountain %tagThere were lots of highlights, but I adored everything that came in the gorgeous deep blue shade, from body-con dresses with sheer arms to peplum cocktail styles featuring lattice skirts, to skinny trousers adorned with Swarovski beaded, and then there were gowns that swept the floor – each was simply stunning.

Add the sculptural headwear created by milliner Zara Gorman and the facial jewellery designed by Yunus and Eliza and this was one show that I won’t forget in a while, I loved each look, and I hope big named stylists take note as these boys deserve to get their designs on the red carpet!!!
