Summer Ready Legs & Floral Prints

Summer Ready Legs & Floral Prints

The scariest thing about summer dressing has to be that moment when it is too warm to wear tights, jeans, or your favourite tailored trousers, and you actually have to show the world your legs and the effects months of winter has had on them, which in my case means super dry legs. For me, confidence comes from three areas, whether my hair is doing OK, is my outfit flattering, and the added pressure in the summer whether my legs look toned and fuzz-free, I used to be bothered about them being tanned but I’m really embracing my pasty ways and factor 50!

So when Braun invited me to a pampering day at the Rosewood London with yummy food, shopping, and a leg makeover by celebrity beautician and Braun ambassador, Nathalie Eleni on the itinerary as part of their Silk-Epil  9 campaign I jumped at the chance, any tips I can get on making my legs summer ready I’m totally there.

Beauty Bytes: Liz Earle Strengthening Nail Polish

Beauty Bytes: Liz Earle Strengthening Nail Polish

I’ve been finding lately that nail varnish is all about how much glitter, sparkles, and texture detailing brands can offer, don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of confetti sprinkles on my nails, but discovering Liz Earle’s strengthening nail polish, which comes in some gorgeous classic hues I realised that sometimes it is fun to take a break from the over-the-top and give my nails a breather.

I’m a fairly new convert to Liz Earle, dreadful really considering the brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and last month I gushed about how much I love the hot cleanse and polish, well now I can’t get enough of their strengthening nail varnishes.

Getting Summer Ready With Braun Silk-Epil 9

Getting Summer Ready With Braun Silk-Epil 9

When it comes to hair removal I’m kind of a wuss and stuck in my ways, I’m all about running a hot bubble bath and using a razor to defuzz, as it is simple and easy to do. I’ve given waxing a go and granted yeah it doesn’t hurt but doing it yourself is messy and annoying I generally want to give up after one leg, then you have removal creams that so don’t work or maybe that’s because I’m too impatient to wait the allotted time, and then there are laser treatments and to be honest the at home versions are so pricey they aren’t worth it. So when Braun asked if I would like to test out its new epilator, the Silk-Epil  9, I was actually happy to try it out as it is probably the only hair removal method I haven’t given a go, and I so need to prep my legs for the sunny weather we’ve been having.

My BAFTA Red Carpet Makeover

My BAFTA Red Carpet Makeover

Ever wondered what it is like for your favourite actresses to get red carpet ready? To be honest I probably think about this way more than I should, and thanks to BAFTA and House of Fraser I’ve experience a little of the fun, the pampering and the divine dresses and jewels, thanks to their amazing style suit preview.

This happened a few weeks ago, I have sadly been waiting for the pictures so wasn’t able to share with you earlier, but the preview was basically a run through for the BAFTA TV Awards that took place on Sunday night. Did you all watch? I thought Graham Norton was hilarious as ever, but the red carpet was less than inspiring.

But hey back to my red carpet experience, without the red carpet, where I was given the A-list treatment from BAFTA’s style partners – from red carpet ready hair by Mark Hill to a makeover by MAC, and I was even styled up by House of Fraser, they have a gorgeous red carpet ready collection of gowns, and the final touch was to be bedazzled by the stunning pieces from Carat London. Each stop was like a fairytale dream, I don’t think I have been that pampered since I got married.
