Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California
Wearing: A sleek Barbie pink Elie Saab gown featuring subtle sheer-lace cut-outs from the ready-to-wear spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with a thin belt, Neil Lane jewels, a bejewelled Judith Lieber box clutch, and Jimmy Choo heels
Verdict: I love it when young actresses shine on the red carpet, I love it even more when they wear bright colours, and I am super pleased when it is Elie Saab!!! Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev was my best dressed last night at the SAG Awards as she looked absolutely incredible in this simple-yet-chic Elie Saab gown.
I was trying to pin down why I loved it so much, of course the Barbie pink shade was always going to get my vote, but even though I love a Princess dress I really love that this has a sporty vibe with the t-shirt sleeves, and I just couldn’t shake how much it kind of reminded me of the simple Calvin Klein dress that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Oscars in 2011.
But what this look has is the touch of sexy glamour with the sheer lace cut-outs and the sparkly box clutch and those gorgeous Neil Lane drop earrings. This minimalistic gown teamed with sparkling accessories was the perfect combination to add to Nina’s natural beauty and incredible body – this look is when the dress + styling + star work perfectly together and I love it.
Where: At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California
Wearing: An ice-white beaded strapless Chanel Haute Couture column gown featuring a peplum top from the spring/summer 2009 haute couture collection, teamed with Chanel Fine Jewellery
Verdict: It seems with her pixie haircut, the Les Miserables winner has developed a more refine and elegant red carpet style and this is a stunning gown that even though a few seasons old was modern and chic.
I have to be honest I still miss her Princess moments, but I get that she is trying to be more mature, this gown did stand out on the red carpet mainly due to the winter white colour, but it just didn’t bowl me over as much as I hoped her look would.
Completing her look was flawless make-up, as always, and a gorgeous “Swing Diamant” diamond Bracelet, “Plume” diamond Bracelet and “Camellia” diamond earrings by Chanel Fine Jewellery

Where: At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California
Wearing: A blue rose-vine patterned Jacquard strapless Carolina Herrera gown from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and a fishtail braid
Verdict: Los Angeles maybe having a winter chill at the moment but the Elementary actress was in full bloom at this year’s Golden Globes in this gorgeous and dramatic gown from Carolina Herrera. This is the second look from the pre-fall 2013 collection this we’ve seen this week, like with Emmy Rossum’s constellations print, this another very ladylike ‘princess’ dress that was made for the red carpet.
I always seem to like what Lucy wears on the red carpet as she takes risks, which to be honest is easy when you look as good as her, and I absolutely adore this dress. I love everything about this look from the romantic print to the way the dress highlights her tiny waist, to the exquisite Lorraine Schwartz pink-gold, 2.5 million dollar drop earrings with over 30 carats of diamonds, and how she has finished it off with a gorgeous fishtail braid and barely there make-up.
Lucy is gorgeous in this dress and is most certainly in my top five favourites of the night – I simply love it.
Where: At the 13th Annual AFI Awards Luncheon held in Los Angeles
Wearing: A black wool crepe sheath dress by Prabal Gurung featuring metallic and neon tweed inserts to the bodice and skirt and peplum detailing at the hips from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with black, white and Barbie pink ankle strap Casadei for Prabal Gurung heels and a Jill Milan clutch
Verdict: Well we’ve had it all from Jennifer this week on the red carpet, ranging from a very shaking/ageing look at the People’s Choice Awards to the much improved dramatic black gown at the Critics’ Choice Awards and now she has given us this gorgeous multicoloured sheath dress that I truly adore.
This is her second look from Prabal Gurung’s pre-fall 2013 collection this week and I am simply in love with it, as finally she gives us a splash of colour. This dress is not only stunning but looks incredible on her, the black panel is super flattering, but come on we have to talk about those incredible shoes – OMG I am in love these are works of art.
This look has finally made me really excited to see Jennifer walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes tomorrow. What about you do you love this look?
What a busy week, first proper week back at work, my first event of 2013, and award season well and truly kicked off. We’ve had the People’s Choice Awards, the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, as well as the Oscar 2013 nominations – and then there has been all the prep for the Golden Globe Awards which take place on Sunday. Red carpet has kind of taken over my life, which is what I love about the turn of the year!!!
Ted’s Finishing School:
As I said I went to my first event of the year, which is always the first event I go to, the Ted Baker away day where they invite a few bloggers to see their spring/summer 2013 collection. Each season the venue is incredible and this year was no different, with the theme Ted’ Finishing School, the catwalk space looked more like a theatre and we were all ready to be schooled. It was a fun show, and lots of lovely pieces will be rolling out soon in the shops. Plus we were treated to not one, but two Britain’s Next Top Model winners walking the show, as well as Ella from X Factor singing us a little tune!!!
I took a little video on my HTC One X of Ella singing to the final looks of the show, sound quality not amazing but you can see how great it all looked.

Buy, Buy, Buy – The Pencil Skirt Edition:
Each week I give you pieces/trends I am craving and at the moment I can’t stop looking for pencil skirts and these three from ASOS, Topshop and River Island are perfect and won’t break the bank.
I didn’t get a chance to check out London Collections: Men, which took place this week showcasing the very best in menswear, but I heard such great things about the street style and I love this video from Handpicked Media.

Wearing: A white Miu Miu dress that fell at the ankles featuring a crystal-embellished neckline and cross-back straps, teamed with a gold box clutch and Prada metallic heels
Verdict: Known for her simple-yet-stunning looks on the red carpet, do you remember that vibrant Alexander McQueen last year, well this another gorgeous dress that is made into a show-stopping number as soon as you see the back, like with Jessica Chastain’s Prada gown.
I love that this dress fell at her ankle as it added a different dimension to the gown and stood out on the red carpet, plus it totally worked perfectly with her Old Hollywood glamour with her striking lippy and pin curls.
Wearing: A cobalt blue Marios Schwab midi dress, featuring an embellished lace bodice and chiffon skirt from the spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with Roger Vivier heels and Lorraine Schwartz earrings
Verdict: Not only are London Fashion Week designers having a red carpet moment in Hollywood this week with Simone Rocha, Peter Pilotto and Julien Macdonald designs being showcased at the People’s Choice Awards this week, but Amanda seems to love London-based designers having worn Alexander McQueen a number of times during the promo tour for Les Misérables.
This look is one of the most fashion-forward dresses on the red carpet last night, I wouldn’t say it was my favourite of the night but I do like that she isn’t afraid to take style risks. I love the colour and the detailing to the bodice, but I would have loved for it to be floor-length, the diamond-shaped hemline doesn’t work for me.
What I do absolutely love is her hair and make-up, from the glossy top-knot to the cat-eyes and nude lips – simply gorgeous. [Pics: Stipple.com]
