Where: At the Opening Night of The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival for the Great Gatsby Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the Theatre Lumiere
Wearing: A strapless floral embroidered Christian Dior Couture gown from the spring 2013 collection, teamed with coral pointed Dior heels and diamond stud earrings
Verdict: Wow, I can’t remember seeing Nicole Kidman looking so girlie and fresh before but this strapless floral beaded beauty shows her embracing her inner Grace Kelly and I love it. The dress itself really plays off the 1950s silhouette but adds a modern twist with the intricate beading work and the vibrant colours.
When Nicole was announced as the face of Jimmy Choo just before Cannes I was expecting a lot of heel-flattering dresses, however this look isn’t complemented by Jimmy Choo heels but Dior ones, but either way I love the pop of coral it works really well.
Finishing up her look is a strange quiff side ponytail, simple-yet-elegant diamond earrings and gorgeous fuchsia pink lips.
For me Nicole was easily one of the best dressed on the red carpet on Day 1 at Cannes.

Where: At the 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards held at the Royal Opera House in London
Wearing: A black column Burberry gown, featuring short sleeves and a studded bodice, teamed with gold bangles, and a book-inspired clutch, showing off a vintage cover of Victor Hugo’s novel, Les Miserables
Verdict: With a rainy red carpet at last night’s BAFTAs a lot of the actresses covered up with huge coats, I am talking about you Jennifer Lawrence, while Anne Hathaway wore a sensible, slightly warmer option with this sporty, simple Burberry gown.
Even though this was one of my favourite looks of the night, I loved the understated shape and the bodice detailing really did shimmer on camera, it did leave me a little torn as I don’t think it was glamorous enough for the BAFTAs, a premiere yes, the British answer to the Oscars not so much.
But what did wow me about this look had to be her incredible book clutch, a tribute to the movie that has gained her a lot of recognition this award season. It was such a great touch to a simple outfit.
Her make-up and hair was also another highlight, which to be honest has been immaculate throughout the award season, but last night I loved her slightly grundy pixie, kohl-heavy eyes, and that pop of pink on her lips – it really did make her look incredible.

It has been another packed week – SAG Awards brought out everyone see below but I adored the pop of Barbie pink from Nina Dobrev. I was on the panel at The Coterie‘s latest meet-up, talking about fashion week – it was so great to meet so many amazing hair dressers – such a passionate crowd. Plus I have been working on a very exciting Award Season interview series which is coming soon, and I am still a little shocked that it is February already!!!
SAG Awards:
Once again I went a little overboard on my red carpet reviews, not quite to the same extent as the Golden Globes and no where near as many as I do for the Oscars, but this year’s SAG Awards provided some gorgeous gowns. We had the midnight blue clan of Amanda Seyfried, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lawrence, who did not have a wardrobe malfunction in her Dior Couture, then there was the Jessica Rabbit moment from Jessica Chastain, and the best custom dress from Rodarte worn by Kerry Washington.
The big thing that everyone keeps discussing at the moment is the fact that three high street retailers – River Island, Whistles and H&M are showcasing collections during fashion week – whether you are for or against and both Susie Bubble and Millie aka It’s A LDN Thing put across their points of view this week – both are interesting reads [Style Bubble & It's A LDN Thing]
I love emerging talent contests like Fashion Fringe and this week H&M crowned their Design Award winner to Minju Kim who has been studying in Belgium and The Very Simon G was at Stockholm Fashion Week [The Very Simon G]
I dabble at doing style posts and this year I plan to be a little bit more adventurous and I think I need to take some tips from the gorgeous Monica from The Elgin Avenue as she is just incredible – check out her latest outfit – full on print and I love it [The Elgin Avenue]

Buy, Buy, Buy – Barbie at Miss Selfridge:

Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue is always one of my favourite magazines of the year and the cover is always highly anticipated and I have been wondering how many A-lists would fit on the cover this year – well it seems this year they only needed three – Emma Stone, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper.
Shot by Bruce Weber, this is Vanity Fair’s 19th Hollywood Issue, and whereas the cover may not wow me as it has in recent years, I do love that Ben and Bradley are wearing bear and gorilla costumes, and I can’t wait to pick up a copy as the mag features more than 75 different stars in the mags tribute to the town.
The full gate-fold cover is below and it also includes youngest-ever best-actress nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, a raunchy looking Olivia Wilde as a showgirl and my latest red carpet crush Kerry Washington. Inside there are also shots of Halle Berry, Jonah Hill, Armie Hammer, Bella Heathcote and Eddy Redmayne dancing with a bear, as well as Tom Hanks, Amy Adams, Ewan McGregor and Selena Gomez. Literally everyone in Hollywood it seems.
What do you think of the cover and will you be picking up the Hollywood issue?
Where: At the Entertainment Weekly Screen Actors Guild Awards pre-party held at the Chateau Marmont in California at the weekend
Wearing: A strapless colourful floral-print silk-chiffon Matthew Williamson gown featuring an internal boned bodice, pleated skirt, and crystal embellishments on the side waist panels from the pre-spring 2013 collection, teamed with an Elie Saab box clutch
Verdict: I love that Nina Dobrev is never afraid to make a statement on the red carpet and this is a bold floral print and she is wearing it well. I love the flattering cut to the maxi dress with the corset bodice and the flowing pleated skirt.
What makes this look for me is that Nina plays down the bold print with her flawless-barley-there make-up and no jewellery – she is letting the dress shine. I just love how effortless her red carpet looks are.
Shop Her Style: Love the look and want to snap up Nina’s dress? Well get out your credit card as this beauty is currently on Net-a-Porter for £1,695.

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California
Wearing: A sleek Barbie pink Elie Saab gown featuring subtle sheer-lace cut-outs from the ready-to-wear spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with a thin belt, Neil Lane jewels, a bejewelled Judith Lieber box clutch, and Jimmy Choo heels
Verdict: I love it when young actresses shine on the red carpet, I love it even more when they wear bright colours, and I am super pleased when it is Elie Saab!!! Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev was my best dressed last night at the SAG Awards as she looked absolutely incredible in this simple-yet-chic Elie Saab gown.
I was trying to pin down why I loved it so much, of course the Barbie pink shade was always going to get my vote, but even though I love a Princess dress I really love that this has a sporty vibe with the t-shirt sleeves, and I just couldn’t shake how much it kind of reminded me of the simple Calvin Klein dress that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Oscars in 2011.
But what this look has is the touch of sexy glamour with the sheer lace cut-outs and the sparkly box clutch and those gorgeous Neil Lane drop earrings. This minimalistic gown teamed with sparkling accessories was the perfect combination to add to Nina’s natural beauty and incredible body – this look is when the dress + styling + star work perfectly together and I love it.
