Clerkenwell Design Week: Lulu Guinness – Be a Pin Up!

It is days like today that I love being a blogger as this morning I had the honour of spending breakfast with British designer Lulu Guinness. At the gorgeous Zetter Hotel, Lulu Guinness launched her one-off commission for Clerkenwell Design Week a life-sized pin art installation, at an exclusive blogger breakfast.

I still can’t believe that I was part of the exclusive crowd, which include the amazing Alex Loves, Style Slicker, Bunni Punch, and A Girl A Style; and it was lovely to meet Cherie City and La Petite Anglaise.

It was really great to get up-close-and-personal with Lulu, who was super stylish in a green print dress and so sweet in talking about her inspiration for this project, her interest in my blog as well as talking about her recent trip to Hong Kong. The best bit was when she was leaving she said to me “bye Barbie” – this completely made my day!!!!

Back to the Be a Pin Up! installation: firstly it is set underneath the amazing St John’s Gate – think historic and iconic; secondly it is inspired by one of my favourite Lulu Guinness bags from the autumn/winter collection – the Wanda; and thirdly it is interactive and so much fun.

Of course I couldn’t resist having a go, my advice is take a friend it really does add to the fun. I was lucky enough to work my pose with the lovely Alex Loves, I think we look pretty good next to our piece of art.

I really loved A Girl A Style’s smile – that is dedicated patience that I most certainly don’t have, Style Slicker made it all about her shoe, and Bunni Punch really pushed through and showcased her boobs!!!!

It is the bag seen above that Lulu is holding -a lip clutch decorated with pin heads, I so want one!!
