Tinker Bell Rules

I’ve made no secret I’m a big kid at heart, I collect Barbie dolls, I love a My Little Pony, a Care Bear, unicorn cereal, and one of my favourite high street collaborations has to be Cath Kidston and Disney. I loved rocking Minnie Mouse, I totally adored the 101 Dalmatians, and now I get to be Tinker Bell, all in a day’s work as a fashion blogger and I love it. Cath Kidston really have killed it lately with their Disney partnership, they’ve really made the pieces so them, while bringing to life the Disney characters and I think the Peter Pan collection is too cute.

However, while the other collaborations have had an adult connection, Mickey and Minnie have been worn by adults for ages on T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats you name it, even the 101 Dalmatians works because it’s black and white, we all know fashion loves a monochrome colour palette, but when you think of Peter Pan you think of children. So, after discussions on social media, how old is too old to wear Disney?

Well, I’m going with you’re never too old to wear whatever you like, for one thing. But, also, you don’t have to wear Disney pieces as though you were 12 years-old, well unless that’s what you want. So, I thought I’d show how I wear Tinker Bell, without actually being a three-year-old dressed in fairy wings.

The Tinker Bell spot button print that is seen across a number of the fashion pieces is subtle, while still being playful, and by wearing the skirt, you can dress up or down as you please. What I love about this looks is the contrast, from the chunky knit, to the cute print and sexy over-the-knee boots. It’s doing Disney, adult style, without compromising on the fun-factor that the collection brings. As that’s the point of these pieces, fashion should and is fun.

So, my feeling is, why not embrace your Disney side and add a little Tinker Bell sass to your wardrobe.

Do you think Tinker Bell rules?
