Autumn might not have stuck around very long this year, but with the weather getting colder it can only mean one thing, I’m once again on the hunt for the perfect statement winter coat. I’m not really one for a black coat, mainly because I wear so much black, and I always find a fun, bright coat makes the gloomy, freezing conditions much more bearable. This year, I’ve lucked out, as I have found the brightest winter coat from Boden that really evokes a sense of childhood and whimsy, a delightful yellow duffle, which also has a fun faux fur trim hood. Have you ever seen such a beautiful coat before?
So, this statement winter coat might not be for everyone, this yellow is a little bright, but I just find that there is something so special about a duffle coat. Not only does it make me feel like a kid again, if I had a pinafore dress I would have totally been twinning with a seven-year-old, but there’s something so cosy about them. Maybe, it is the buttons, maybe, it is the faux fur trim, or the oversized pockets, whatever it is I am in love.
Boden always seems to be a great place to pick a statement winter coat, the quality is amazing, and this duffle coat comes in four colours, so if you are after something a little tamer, you could opt for the red, blue or even cream, all are perfect, especially for a weekend walk in the countryside.
Finishing off my winter walk look are my trusty Emu Australia ‘Ellin’ boots, not only are they lined with Australian Merino wool, which keeps your feet toasty warm, but they also feature a waterproof polished calf leather outer. So, they are kind of like chic wellies, which will work heading into town as much as out in the countryside, and I can’t get over how comfortable they are. Seriously dreamy and will be a firm favourite for me this winter.
