When it comes to beauty emporiums do you instantly think Sephora? Well, there’s a new kid in town and you are going to love it, Fabled by Marie Claire. Yep, the magazine has put its creative magic behind a new beauty brand with the help of Ocado, you know the guys behind Waitrose deliveries, which does mean one-hour delivery slots. I know right, you can now buy brands including Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Nars and Perricone MD with ease to fit around your busy schedule. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, they’ve even got the prettiest looking beauty emporium on Tottenham Court Road in London.
I did gush a little about the opening on Twitter over the summer, I know, it took me a while to give the online shop a go, but it was well worth the wait. I have to be honest, I’m don’t normally buy beauty products online, I’m always worried about getting the right shade, whether it would get to me in one piece, which is why I tend to like to buy things in person. But actually, with the brands that Fabled has on its online shop you generally know most of them anyway, which makes it handy for reordering, plus its great editorial highlights products that you didn’t even know you would want.
The website is easy to navigate, everything is broken down into categories – so you have skincare, make-up, hand and nails, bath and body, haircare, fragrance, wellness, men’s and then there’s the Marie Claire edit where the editor’s share their favourite pieces, as well as tips and tricks. I have, to be honest I love how slick this website is, combines e-commerce and editorial really well, plus the brands on offer are amazing.
But what really sold Fabled to me had to be the delivery options, I love next day delivery, but I love next day with one-hour slots even more. I spend so much time missing deliveries that this was so refreshing. It totally made me wonder why more brands don’t offer this as it makes such a difference. I know Asos give you an hour-slot the day off, but with Fabled you get to choose the hour that’s most convenient to you, seven days a week. Oh, and if you spend over £15 it is also free, or just £3.90 if you spend less. Does this make anyone else scream hallelujah?

Urban Decay Naked 3, £38.50
My second purchase was this incredible Urban Decay nudey eyeshadow palette. I love a neutral smoky eye, it is generally my go-to look under my glasses, and I love that the Naked 3 has gorgeous shimmering, glittery as well as matte colours, and the rose gold case and double ended brush doesn’t hurt.
What I love most is that these neutrals are more on the pinky side and work well with the taupe colours, rather than my go-to brown, there’s a softness about them, and I just adore the velvety texture, great for blending and even better at staying put. For me, this has options perfect for the day, day-to-night, or full on party mode, I love a palette that can do everything as it makes it easier for me to take it travelling.
I have lots of favourites, ‘Limit’ is great to use on the crease, while the pinky satin feel of ‘Burnout’ offers a daily fix, and ‘Strange’ acts as a great under brow highlighter. The other fav shades that I use a lot are ‘Nooner’, which is great even on its own, ‘Liar’, another great deep brown that works for day and evening looks, ‘Factory’, which I love to use to do a little under eye smudge, and ‘Mugshot’, a metallic taupe that is quite like ‘Liar’ one sweep and you are away. For a night out I also love ‘Trick’ with its pinky-copper shimmer, and ‘Blackheart’ makes for a great eyeliner, especially if you are packing light.
I love this palette so much that it is making me wonder whether I need the other two. Do you love the Urban Decay Naked palettes?
