Do you call it the mullet, the dip hem, the high-low? Whatever you call this style of dress, can we all please agree that it is kind of the most perfect outfit for a summer city break? I know, bold statement, I’m quite partial to a pair of denim shorts as well to do a little sightseeing, but when you are after something a little more feminine, without being too revealing you really can’t go wrong with a dip low-high mullet hemline on your maxi dress.
So what’s so perfect about the mullet? Well, for me, its the fact it is still fun, less formal, even when it is a full on chiffon gown, and it allows you to cover up your legs a little, while still flirting. Sometimes, less on show really is more, and I actually think the dip hem is sexy, as well as being very flattering, especially for my curvy thighs. I also hate being uncomfortable when on a city break especially in the summer and this allows me to keep cool, cover up, but not too much, as well as being fun and flirty.
This little beauty is from Boohoo, well actually Asos, as I much prefer to shop Boohoo there, I find a curated edit of the fast-fashion online retailer easier to digest. Does anyone else feel that the Boohoo website is rather unappealing? I always feel like I kind of get lost down the rabbit hole trying to find something specific, so I much prefer to buy via Asos. Sadly, this little beauty has sold out, I think that’s the downside to Boohoo via Asos they must have limited stock, or maybe it was the £20 price tag, bold floral print, perfect mullet style and on-trend ruffle that made this a sellout, either way, I’m glad I managed to snag one.
Even though this really is a summer dress, just imagine pairing with black ankle boots, a chunky cardigan and a hat – I think it will transition well into the autumn, well if the weather is mild enough, fingers crossed as I can’t stop wearing this mullet beauty.
What’s you thoughts on the mullet hemline?
