There’s something special in the air when the blossom is in full bloom, there’s a sense of optimism that winter is finally over, and a joy at the new season ahead that warmer weather is finally on its way, and of course, a blogger can’t go past a blossom tree without snapping for Instagram, which then leads to posing in front of to show off her new patchwork jeans that she just picked up in the Gap sale. Well it would have been rude not to, right?
This beauty is in Cambridge, we actually past it on our way to breakfast, as I’m putting together a blog series on the best places to eat in the city for next month to coincide with the food festival that happens every year. I’m using it as a great excuse to eat out a lot, it’s a treat for all the early mornings thanks to our new puppy, it seems he can’t sleep past 6.30am. But he’s cute so we’ll let him off!!!
OK, so I’ve kind of gone off topic – back to these incredible patchwork jeans that I’m obsessed with, I might have worn them a little too much since snagging them in the Gap sale for less than £15. I’m a big fan of Gap denim, they have the quality, great styles, I love the mix of classic and fashion-forward, and it seems I can’t resist the sale, especially in-store, where I always find the bargains to be better.
These beauties were front and centre in the sale and at first I was thinking they were a little too much, too many patches, if that’s at all possible, I was also worried about the light wash, not always the most flattering on my slightly-larger-than-most-thighs. Then I tried them on, loved that I got into a smaller size than last time, and fell for the combination of patches and distressed details that I just had to have them, and it seems it was a good shout as you lovely lot went crazy for them on my Instagram and Twitter.
Styling these patchwork jeans was easy, I have worn them with trainers and a statement T-shirt, with a silk shirt and ankle boots, and on this sunny, but a little chilly day, with my new cold shoulder jumper that I just picked up from Asos, inspired by my Friday Favourites a few weeks back **check out this week’s it’s all about what’s on my spring wishlist**. I may have bought up all the beautiful cold shoulder pieces and then some, and this slouchy jumper was the perfect addition to this look.
Of course, a look isn’t complete without accessories and I decided to go for my trusty black strappy Clarks heels, I do love a block heel and these shoes are so comfortable and really elevate jeans and a jumper look. The final piece of any outfit is the bag, I do need a statement bag and this sweetpea blue Cambridge Satchel Company push lock cross-body bag is perfection. Not only is it a great colour, doesn’t it look great with that gorgeous pink blossom backdrop? It is also a great size, cute but roomy.
