The Oscars might be one of the most prestigious nights of the award season, one in which you would expect celebrities to pull out all the stops, however, it seems that the best fashion seems to nearly always happen at the Oscars 2016 After Party, namely the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. I’ve picked out my six best looks from Diane Kruger in a sexy sheer and fringed Reem Acra gown to Kerry Washington who changed out of her leather Atelier Versace look into a daring, racier gown, Nina Dobrev in the prettiest Elie Saab number and Elizabeth Banks in a beautiful caped jumpsuit.
Best of the Oscars 2016 After Party Dresses
Oscars 2016 After Party: Diane Kruger in Reem Acra
So, Diane Kruger always looks good, but how incredible does her body look in this maroon Reem Acra gown with fringe detailing? The actress looks seriously hot in this gown, which was fresh off the autumn/winter 2016 catwalk seen during New York Fashion Week. I’m obsessed with the detail of this gown, from the strategically placed sparkles and fringe to the neckline and corset-style piping.
Oscars 2016 After Party: Rachel McAdams in Naeem Khan
One of the many changes from Oscars red carpet to the after party was Rachel McAdams, she slipped out of her forest green August Getty Atelier gown into a stunning baby pink sequinned Naeem Khan gown. I think I actually preferred her Vanity Fair after-party look, it was sexy from the low-cut neckline to the sky-high slit. But what I adored the most about this dress had to be the sparkly texture and colour – it was perfection on her.
Oscars 2016 After Party: Elizabeth Banks in Ralph & Russo
There is always one thing you can depend on and that’s Elizabeth Banks on the red carpet, the actress always brings it, and this Ralph & Russo caped jumpsuit just shows that you don’t need to wear a gown to be on the best-dressed list on Oscar night. I love how elegant this look is, its lace bodice is beautiful, but it is the drama of the cape and the wide-leg trousers that makes this so stunning.
Oscars 2016 After Party: Kerry Washington in Atelier Versace
I loved Kerry Washington’s leather warrior princess Atelier Versace look that she wore to the main event, it was different and edgy, but for the after party the Scandal star went for daring and racy in another Atelier Versace look. The front of this silver sequinned column gown is stunning, showing off serious cleavage, but when she turns around you see the real beauty of this dress, the plunging back that was just barely being held up by bright yellow straps.
Oscars 2016 After Party: Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab
I was sad that no one wore Elie Saab to the Oscars, so I was super pleased to see actress Nina Dobrev wearing this blush embellished beauty to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. There’s always something so special about an Elie Saab gown, always so glamorous, so striking, and most of all beautifully made. The embellished detailing on this gown is exquisite, I love how the skirt turns a little sheer towards the hem, and I adore the styling of the brighter coloured pink belt to accent her tiny waist. It was good to see Nina back on the red carpet.
Oscars 2016 After Party: Jessica Alba in Roberto Cavalli
The Oscars red carpet might have all been about statement earrings but Jessica Alba shows that the plunging neckline of her Roberto Cavalli gown looks incredible when teamed with this David Webb crescent necklace. This is one sexy look from the Honest beauty entrepreneur and actress, I love the flowing nature of the Roberto Cavalli pre-autumn/winter 2016 gown, the sexiness of the front slit, as well as the styling of the large black belt, and the gold accessories – those are serious platform heels from Brian Atwood and I love the chic Jimmy Choo box clutch.
