Friday Favourites: Earn Your Stripes

So did this Friday come around quick for anyone else? This week really has flown by, the closer it gets to London Fashion Week the less organised I seem to become, which is not a good thing, so today’s Friday Favourites is a little late, sorry, will try to do better, but it’s a good one, all about rocking graphic stripes. Horizontal, vertical, block, overlapping asymmetric stripes they were all seen on the catwalks at the spring/summer 2016 shows – everyone from Prada to Roksanda, Dolce and Gabbana and Jonathan Saunders, as well as Missoni, Chloe, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and Stella McCartney. So it isn’t a surprise that the high street has followed suit and I’m loving that this season it is much more than just the Breton stripe top, we have dresses, skirts, trousers, shirts, and even bags.

Buy Stripes: 1. Asos White – funnel neck mini dress in block stripe, £75 // 2. Next – formal utility shirt, £32 // 3. Farfetch – Comme Des Garcons Play, striped T-shirt, £114.24 // 4. Topshop – modern stripe skirt, £36 // 5. Cambridge Satchel Company – small stripe cloud bag in peony peach and pink, £130 // 6. Boohoo – striped midi shirt dress, £22 //

My favourite and must have piece from my edit has to be this gorgeous new Cambridge Satchel Company cloud bag. I’m a huge fan of this British brand and I have really loved the new pieces they have been designing, especially the smaller styles, and this peony peach with a vibrant pink stripe is high on my SS16 wish list. Isn’t a beauty? Plus, this bag will ease you into the stripes trend without committing too much.

Another ease-yourself-in look is this go-faster stripe skirt from Topshop, this mini marries a sporty vibe with graphic stripes and I also think you could pair it with the stripy Next shirt or the Comme Des Garcons Play striped T-shirt to make a more bold statement.

If like me you are thinking of throwing yourself into this trend, and why not look at these gorgeous pieces, my top piece would have to be the Asos White block stripe dress. This dress is perfect to wear now with tights and black ankle boots before the weather warms up and you can wear with cute adorable flats. I also think it would look cool teamed with white trainers for a sporty feel.

Are you excited to wear graphic stripes this spring/summer? Have you added any of the pieces onto your wish list?
