A new feature this year will be my Friday Favourites, where I basically discuss items I’m thinking of buying, things that are inspiring me, and trends I’m trying to decide whether I can wear, and to start me off I’m discussing Dior-style patent perspex heels.
Each season there seems to be a footwear trend that captures the fashion pack, we’ve had over-the-knee boots, which actually are still going strong, and it seems every fashionista loves to wear patent, so when Dior showcased patent perspex heeled ankle and knee-high boots in all colours, from grey and black to burgundy and electric blue in their autumn/winter 2015 collection everyone went wild.
The only problem is, how many of us actually have Dior-sized bank balances? The space-age ankle perspex heels go for more than £1,000, so I’m so pleased to say I have found some great Dior dupes for less than £40 from Public Desire and they have six different colourways on offer from black with a clear heel to grey and pink to my favourite nude ones.
Shop: Public Desire ‘Chloe’ Perspex Heels – Black with Clear Heel, Grey with Pink Heel, Nude, Grey with Clear Heel, Black Suede, and Grey Suede – £39.99 each.
Styling up these beauties is easy – make a sexy statement by teaming with a mini-skirt and a duster coat, or why not dress the rest of your look down with ripped boyfriend jeans and a chunky jumper, if the rest of your look is casual it will make your boots stand out even more. For me though I think they look cool paired with pencil skirts and knitted midi dresses.
I really love these boots and I really want to be brave and buy them, I like the patent grey ones with the pink heel and the nude pair, both colours I don’t already have in my shoe closet, I’m just worried that I will get bored of the trend. But then again with them being less than £40 I’m not having to invest too much. If like me you are still on the fence, maybe a safer option is to just go for a pair of patent boots, not quite as much of a statement but will probably last longer than a season. So below I’ve added a selection of patent ankle boots as well as the Public Desire perspex heels.
