minnie mouse, polka dots, monochrome, blue vanilla, fashionista barbie, fashion, outfit post, style, knits, coords, coordinates, black and whiteMarrakech feels so long ago, even further away now that home is one big wind tunnel, so I’m cheering myself up and hopefully you guys as well with the first of my outfits that I wore while in Morocco. I actually wore this to our anniversary dinner, I called it my Minnie Mouse look, as all this monochrome dotty two-piece look is missing are some oversized ears and a pop of red!

This knitted two-piece is from Blue Vanilla, the brand behind my recent khaki shirt dress look, and I just fell for how fun this look was and I think the sunshine helped make these pictures look amazing. I have done something a little different with this style post, I’ve tried to make it a little more like a fashion editorial, and added in some black and white snaps, I just thought it added a romanticism and mystery to the outfit. Fingers crossed I succeeded and you guys love it as I’m constantly trying to make exciting and enjoyable content.

Polka dots you might think are just for children and Minnie Mouse, but I just thought that this co-ords knitted set looked so chic on, and I think the Moroccan November sunshine helped a lot. I had thought about teaming this beauty with tights and boots for a cool, cosy, wintery look, which I think would look amazing and I’m sure I will certainly wear in the coming months, but adding strappy sandals and a shimmer of a tan made this look, I don’t know, more fashion.

As well as loving pairing these pieces together, since I have been back I’ve enjoyed wearing both pieces separately, I just adore this skirt teamed with biker boots, a boyfriend-cut T-shirt tucked in, underneath a chunky maxi cardigan, seriously cosy. Another great look would be pairing the co-ords with some brilliant white trainers, you might have to wait until it’s a little warmer, or why not wear the jumper with a leather pencil skirt and a pair of sky-high heels for a great night out with the girls.

My Minnie Mouse Style: Polka dot skirt & jumper set, Blue Vanilla (c/o) // Strappy sandals, Clarks (c/o) // Sunglasses, Maniere De Voir (c/o) // Watch and Locket, Stella & Dot (c/o) //

Normally with a monochrome look I like to add a pop of colour, but there is something I just love about the black and white colour palette, teamed with the texture of the polka dots that I think makes more of a statement. But if you want to add some colour to your look go for something vibrant, red is a great place to start, but I also love electric blue, try a colourful clutch or a statement pair of heels. My only pop of colour for this look was my girlie pink lippy!!!

What do you think of my Minnie Mouse style?
