September seems to be my month for apologies, once again sorry for the lack of blog posts lately, I could blame London Fashion Week, which was an amazing but a very busy five days, but actually I’ve been working on a non-blog-related freelance gig that’s been taking up my time, but thankfully, fingers crossed I should be back to normal next week. But I come bearing one of my favourite style posts in a while, an awesome suede mini skirt from the new TTYA x Long Tall Sally range.
I’ve been going through a bit of a Seventies moment of late, pretty much like everyone else, the era certainly took over the summer and I’m pleased to say it is continuing through for autumn and winter, so I couldn’t resist wearing this beauty of a suede mini to London Fashion Week.
For me suede is one of those investment pieces that sadly with our British weather you don’t get to wear a lot, unless you want to ruin it, but there is something so timeless about having a suede mini in your wardrobe that it totally makes sense to pick one up, especially when you find the perfect fit, length and colour. All of which I’ve found in this rust coloured suede mini from the TTYA x Long Tall Sally collaboration. As well as being obsessed with the colour, I love that it is kind of brown, kind of tan, but with a hint of red, makes it perfect for autumnal dressing, and I was totally drawn to its utilitarian vibe with the zip front and the 70s-style front pockets.
This little beauty can be worn in many wears, but I love it best when teamed with black, and I really like wearing mini skirts underneath maxi-length cardigans, I think it adds a fun styling touch and I love how this skirt looks with one of my favourite Asos bargains, I picked up this beauty for less than half price in the last sale.
My Style: Suede mini skirt, TTYA x Long Tall Sally (c/o) // Black cardigan, Asos // Black tee, Primark // Hat, Dorothy Perkins (lent from The Apartment) // Watch, House of Florrie (c/o) // Boots, Topshop // Bag, Lulu Guinness (c/o) //
Come the colder months this skirt will look great teamed with a polo neck jumper, go for a lovely soft one that falls nicely and can be tucked in for a clean look, there is a great one in the same collection – see below, and pair with knee-high boots for a truly authentic 70s look.
There are also so many other pieces in the new collection designed by TTYA founder Irene Agbontaen specifically for women 5’8” and taller that I’ve got my eye on including, the gorgeous chevron print pieces, I totally wish I could rock that maxi dress, and I’m in love with the textured maxi cardigan, longline grey coat – serious chic and timeless, as well as the sexy and cosy cocoon sweater dress. Tall girls who have problems finding on-trend clothes have to check out this stunning range.
