For years I stayed clear, then I discovered a pair of great fitting denim shorts, and I was kind of hooked on finding more. My search, I have to be honest hasn’t been overly successful, why do they have to be so tiny, why so tight, and why so unflattering?

Well I’ve found the most perfect pair of weekend shorts from Fat Face, they are so comfortable as they have a little flare, plus the elephant print makes them so adorable to wear, and I love that they are versatile. You can wear these beauties with a T-shirt, a shirt or even a jumper, and pair with sandals, wedges, and as I have done a bright pair of trainers.

I road-tested these beauties from the Fat Face print collection, on a recent trip to Lee Valley where I met up with my good friend Alex from Fashercise, do check out her amazing sportswear store, and her gorgeous dog Bailey, who kind of stole the show in some of my outfit pictures.

It is such a tranquil area, we walked along the river for hours, trying to tire out Bailey, which isn’t easily done she is full of energy, while having a much-needed catch-up, and finding some Instagram-magic, just look at how beautiful those reflection shots came out, and it was so lovely rounding off the day with a few drinks and a bite to eat in a pub garden overlooking the water.

This outfit is all about these cute shorts, which if the weather was nice enough I would live in, as I’m totally in love with this elephant print, which can also be found on skirts, T-shirts and even a gorgeously tailored jacket, I basically want it all.

Sometimes I find casual clothes can be a little unflattering, and dreary, yes they are always comfortable but you would never want to be photographed in your sweatpants, and that’s where these shorts are a great alternative during the summer, and I can’t wait to wear them on my trip next week to Malaysia.

Also can we just give a moment to this stunning saddle bag, real leather, cute as a button, I love the chocolate colour and tassel, and it is only £55. This little gem really has become my go-to weekend bag, it can fit my camera in, my sunglasses, a notepad, suncream, and even my phone. Plus it basically goes with everything.

Are you a fan of shorts?
