His & Her Jord Wood Watches

I’ve always had a fascination with woods, there is something magical and mysterious about being surrounded by trees, well to me anyway, I do adore seeing sun rays peaking through and the shadows that the leaves create. There is a peacefulness when in the woods that I just adore so I loved that for the first ‘His & Her’ blog post featuring my lovely husband was in the middle of our local woods to showcase these gorgeous Jord wood watches.

It was fun shooting with my husband, granted he takes most of my style posts, but I loved that he agreed to have a little fun and pose next to a tree, I think it helped that he has a new watch to wear, it is his love of timepieces that has got me addicted, I think between us we have more than 30 watches, crazy right!!!

What surprised me the most about these watches was the weight, in my head I thought as they were wood that they would be heavy, I don’t even know why I thought this, but they are so sleek and lightweight that they really are stunning timepieces to wear every day. What I also loved about the American company is that you can enter in your measurements and they will size it to fit, and both our watches are the perfect size, one of the things that sometimes can annoy me about chainlink watches.

I let Paul choose his watch first, a bribe really to become a fashion blogger, and then I went for this beauty, from the Sidney Series – seriously look how beautiful, I’m loving the sapphire crystal face, as well as the Swarovski crystals, dotted around the edge. When you think wood watches, you think masculine and dark, which you can get, but I love how feminine and delicate my watch is, and the contrast with Paul’s Delmar timepiece with its bold red finish and square face.

We both decided that with the heat that we would shoot a casual post, my favourite kind of outfit, so of course mine had to include denim, but, this time, a cute denim pinafore from Very, isn’t it cute, or as my husband put it, something a “toddler would wear”. I teamed it with a strippy off-the-shoulder crop top, I know another obsession, and new flats from Rocketdog, I love the adorable pop of colour to the look. I think this will be a repeat offender this summer.

As it was the weekend, Paul went for his go-to summer look, combat shorts, I love these ones from Fat Face and a cool shirt, yeah he dressed up for our shoot, and he is rocking these mustard yellow trainers, which surprisingly enough are from Clarks. I love it when Paul wears a suit, but I much prefer him when he is comfortable and this look is so perfect. I also love that his watch with its red face and darker wood really stands out against the blue.

Also, can I just say our shot together, done with a tripod and a bit of running as the remote decided not to work, is so cool I’m contemplating doing a fun Christmas card – I think I will need more than a watch to bride him into doing it, though.
