For today’s blog I’m going to share with you the three designer I’m currently crushing on – from a new red carpet star, Rosie Assoulin, an exquisite Australian designer Alex Perry, and what looks like the cosiest knitwear ever by Ryan Roche

Crushing On – Rosie Assoulin

I’m always glued to my social media during New York Fashion Week, one day I’ll be there in person, but last season I was literally squealing at the gorgeous, modern, sculptural, and whimsically eveningwear designs that Rosie Assoulin showcased at her presentation. For me, Rosie totally won fashion week both here and in New York, and it’s with good reason that she is fashion’s newest breakout stars, her design aesthetic is fresh, covetable, and so utterly divine.

What works for me about Rosie’s designs are the contradictions, it’s modern while still having a retro feel, it’s kind of eveningwear but could be uber-glamourous daywear and vice versa, and I’m kind of obsessed that she feels its fine to do trousers legs in ball-gown proportions. Oh how I wish I had model proportions to pull off this amazing look.

Her designs have already been worn by Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery, Margot Robbie and Solange Knowles on the red carpet, and I’m sure that is just the start of it, I am hoping for big things for next year’s award season. The red carpet has been waiting a while for a designer like Rosie to shake things up.

Crushing On – Alex Perry

I’m ashamed to say I thought Alex Perry from Australia was a newcomer to the scene, nope this guy has been designing red carpet worthy frocks for over 20 years. It was only when he launched his ready-to-wear in 2013 that I totally fell for his contemporary, glamorous vibe.

There is something so dreamy about his pieces, they are girlie, without being too cute if you know what I mean, they have a grown-up elegance about them. I’m totally obsessed and wishing I was a lot skinnier to wear his flared mini dresses, and how cool do his matching sets look, but what caught my eye the most had to be this adorable tea-length gowns.

Hands up if you are already obsessed like me? Also can we please get Diane Kruger in this dress please – I would love to see her in this.

Crushing On – Ryan Roche

You can’t always be crushing on red carpet glamour, which is where New York-based Ryan Roche comes in with her cosy knitwear line, just looking at these images makes me wish it was cold so I could wrap up in layers of cashmere. What I love about Ryan is that knitwear doesn’t have to be boring, it can be luxe, and I’m kind of obsessed with her tonal dressing, aren’t these butter hues so perfect.

I kind of what to wear it all, from the oversize fisherman’s jumpers to the dreamy ankle-grazing ponchos, which is basically a more complete and glamorous version of my slanket and I’m OK with that, and then you can also get sexy with the oversized jumper with a daring low back. I haven’t touched these beauties but can’t you just tell they there are soft as butter – I really think that her knitwear has to be on everyone’s luxe shopping list for winter.
