Summer Wedding Guest Style

So last year was all about our wedding, this year it seems we have a wedding in every season, which can I just say makes it extra difficult to plan wedding guest outfits, but I’m totally up for the challenge!!! I’ve already shared my winter/spring wedding look earlier this year, and here is my summer wedding guest style, I sense a theme I do love a pop of colour at a wedding.

Summer I think is the easiest season to find something for a wedding the high street is filled with occasional wear for the prom, racing and wedding season, but it is hard sometimes deciding on a look especially when you aren’t sure what sort of shindig you are attending. But one thing I can tell you is colour is never a bad thing at a wedding unless it is a black and white theme, colour is cheerful, you will pop in pictures, and if you can’t go bright at a wedding when can you!!!

I actually wore this amazing Asos bargain, I picked up this pleated beauty for £7.50 in the sale, to our friends Jess and Hugh’s wedding last month, the weather was scorching and the setting was even more beautiful in the heart of Wiltshire and I this dress worked in the church, on the dance floor and was comfortable to sit down for the meal, and the colour is just perfection.

This dress was one of those that I had saved in Asos but didn’t buy because I wasn’t sure I had anywhere to wear it, then this wedding came around and the bargain price meant it had to be mine, don’t you just love it when that happens. I would definitely say that is one of my favourite features about Asos the ability to save all my favourites until I get around to buy or reject.

It really was such a fun and beautiful day, the bride looked stunning in her Grace Kelly-inspired gown, if you are a fan of High Society you might recognise it, and I loved that the movie theme ran into the reception with every table named after one of their favourite movies, we were on The Wizard of Oz and our pre-dinner snack was popcorn.

Back to my frock, I seem to be having a green moment, my blog went underwent a change from pink to mint green, my Macbook Air has been dressed in turquoise, and I can’t help but add clothing to my online basket in the same hue, surprising really as I had nothing really in green before this year.

What I love about this dress, other than the colour, had to be how flattering it was, falling at the knee is perfect for me, I do adore pleats and I love how it gathers in at the waist for extra definition. The only thing that worried me slightly were the spaghetti straps but the warm weather certainly helped. I was worried I wouldn’t wear it again but I’ve been wearing it as a skirt and teaming with T-shirts and jumpers.

Are you off to a summer wedding and not found anything to wear yet? Keep scrolling down as I have selected a few of my favourite dresses out there at the moment perfect for a wedding guest to wear.
