Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Is A Barbie Girl For Vogue Japan

As a Barbie girl, I’ve been obsessed by the creative magazine editorial’s from around the globe following my favourite dolls fashion resurgence helped along by the amazing Barbie-inspired Moschino spring/summer 2015 collection. First we had Vogue Paris re-creating Barbie as real-life designer dolls, complete with the lust worthy accessories inside a box, and now it seems Vogue Japan and Anna Dello Russo have gone one better with their editorial starring the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley doing her best Barbie impression, and it is spot on.

Inspired by Ellen von Unwerth’s incredible ‘The Real Barbie’ editorial with Claudia Schiffer in Vogue Italia back in 1994, check out the pics on my Pinterest board, Anna Dello Russo has styled up Rosie in what can only be described as Barbie’s dream designer spring wardrobe, including the Mattel-inspired Moschino ready-to-wear collection, and uber-cute, flirty and mainly pink pieces from Dsquared2 and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as Valentino, Versace, Fendi, Chanel, Coach, Miu Miu and even Ralph Lauren, who designed the floaty yellow ballgown for her pageant moment.

What I love most about this editorial shot by Giampaola Sgura has to be Rosie’s ability to look like an inanimate object, she really has Barbie’s plastic fantastic posture down, from the barely bendable knees and arms to her glued together fingers, and she perfectly finishes off her imitation with a pearly white smile. Oh and can we give a shout out to Ken, he is looking hot in this editorial!!!

What do you think of Rosie’s Barbie performance for Vogue Japan?
