Grammy Awards 2015: My Best Dressed List

The Grammy Awards are notorious for being a bit of a hit-and-miss red carpet, mainly because singers it seems like sheer, cut-outs, and generally plunging, anything for a little attention. For most it doesn’t work, it is generally so bad you have to laugh, but as I don’t like to focus on the negative, let us rejoice in the fact that there were a handful of beauties that pulled off amazing looks. Here are my best-dressed ladies from the 2015 Grammy Awards:

Rihanna in Giambattista Valli

Rihanna was the last to arrive and oh boy was it worth the wait. The singer literally glided down the red carpet in this dreamy statement pink tulle Giambattista Valli haute couture gown, worn straight off the Paris runway, teamed with over 50 carats of Chopard diamonds.

First of all, the cotton-candy colour is divine, secondly, there is no such thing as too big when it comes to Rihanna, thank god for that, and thirdly, I love that she saw it on the internet and had to have it! There is only one thing, even though I love this look on Rihanna, part of me is a little sad that this beauty won’t now get a Cannes outing, which is kind of where I thought it might be showcased.

As well as loving the dress, I do love a girlie Rihanna, I adore the fact she went for a feminine, natural beauty look, the ballet bun goes perfectly with this ruffled ball gown.

Love, love, love.

Gwen Stefani in Atelier Versace

Before Gwen Stefani hit the red carpet I was despairing a little that I wouldn’t like any looks, I should have known that the No Doubt singer would bring her A-game. This black Atelier Versace jumpsuit is incredible and I quite agree with Gwen that it does look like an “artwork” with that asymmetrical, structured, sequinned bodice.

Adding her own personal stamp on the jumpsuit, I love that Gwen decided to tailor the trousers for a skinnier feel than the wide-legged version that went down the runway in Paris a few weeks ago. As well as loving the outfit I have to praise her flawless hair and make-up, I think she had the best beauty look of the night.

Nicole Kidman in Mugler

Rocking a little black dress to the Grammys might seem a little boring, but put it on Nicole Kidman and it is pure elegance, and the perfect plus 1 attire. Normally I wouldn’t go for body-con dresses in my best dressed, but there is something about this Mugler LBD that I adore, maybe it is the fact that Nicole is working it, or the exquisite metal eyelets detailing throughout that added a rock-n-roll edge, I just really loved the fact it was sophisticated, fun and sexy all at the same time, without being too much. Also, just for her amazing pins, she had to make the list – simply stunning.

Taylor Swift in Elie Saab

One thing you are guaranteed with Taylor Swift is that she always has fun on the red carpet and she looked incredible in this custom teal ombre Elie Saab gown, teamed with purple Giuseppe Zanotti heels and emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Normally I am not a fan of the mullet-dress, but the jewelled colour just popped beautifully, and her legs really do deserve to be shown off.

Iggy Azalea In Giorgio Armani

Rounding off my Grammys best-dressed list has to be Iggy Azalea as she surprised the hell out of me, I don’t think I have ever seen her look this good before. Her custom electric blue Giorgio Armani silk-crepe gown was divine, tailored to perfection, and I really loved the subtle cut-out detailing on the sides, shoulders and towards the bottom of the gown at the front. This was sexy without trying too hard – her body really does look incredible in this gown. The only thing that lets this look down for me has to be the hair, why the crazy crown of braids, if she had gone for a sleek ponytail or bun I would have adored it, as everything else including her flawless make-up was perfection.
