If Don Draper was handling French fashion label Sonia Rykiel’s advertising campaign this is probably what he would have come up with – a striking, bold and very arty ad to mark new creative director Geraldo da Conceição’s first collection for the fashion house.
Featuring British model Sam Rollinson, the autumn/winter 2013 campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and pays homage to French advertising posters from the 1950s and ’60s.
I just love the styling, that sky blue coat is amazing, and I adore the graphic cut-out shapes – the keyhole, lips and a face silhouette, which is very Picasso, and Sam Rollinson looks stunning.
Everything about this campaign is bold, fresh and makes a statement – bravo Sonia Rykiel – these ads are going to literally pop off the page!!!
