So the sun may have been out today but the magical never-ending roller coaster of fashion keeps on going and the autumn/winter 2013 campaigns are already being unveiled. Earlier today I shared the fairytale Mulberry campaign starring the stunning Cara Delevingne on my Facebook page, which I adored with the gorgeous owls, but this Versace campaign really grabbed my attention with its stripped back approach, which is literally the case for Kate Moss.
Promoting the ‘Vunk’ collection, Kate appears nude except for three strategically placed colourful quilted Vanitas leather bags, and does it with style in the campaign shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Kate keeps on surprising me, I am not one to go crazy about her street style, I get it she has style, but I love that she keeps on booking these high-profile campaigns after 25 years in modelling, which makes me remember that she is 39, yep Mossy will be 40 in January.
Talking about the campaign, Donatella Versace said:
“Versace campaign for Autumn/Winter 2013 is stripped back to the raw power of the clothes and models. There’s no set, no distraction, just the provocation, glamour and attitude of our fashion. Mert & Marcus genius transformed Kate and Saskia into these strong Versace characters.”
Well you can’t argue with Donatella – this is one amazing campaign. I love the contrast of the nudey Kate shots and the more punky styling of Saskia de Brauw’s images – both are sexy, striking and completely Versace for me.
Do you like the stripped back images and are you a fan of Mossy’s darker locks?
