Who: Rooney Mara
Where: At the premiere of her new flick, ‘Side Effects’ held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, New York
Wearing: An ivory panelled velvet & macramé cape Alexander McQueen dress featuring 3D flower embroidery and long sleeves from the pre-autumn/winter 2013 collection, teamed with nude peep-toe heels
Verdict: This dress looks like it was made for Rooney Mara, it has the drama and intrigue with the panelled velvet and macramé cape, it has a girlie vibe with the 3D embroidered flowers, and it has the couture craftsmanship that you always see with Alexander McQueen.
In the lookbook the dress was presented with a black belt and black booties and I have to be honest I wish she had gone for the additionally styling, for me the nude shoes don’t show off this amazing dress as I would have liked. However, I can see why she didn’t go for the structured belt as without it the look is soften for a premiere.
I do love that she went with a sleek centre-parted hairstyle though as it really works with the dress. Do you wish that she had accessorised this look with the black belt and shoes?
