Where: At the 85th Annual Academy awards held in Los Angeles
Wearing: A pale pink and white strapless silk bustier Christian Dior Haute Couture ball gown teamed with a Chopard necklace and earrings and a metallic Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit clutch
Verdict: Well, I think everyone had already predicted that Jennifer Lawrence would wear Dior after her Miss Dior campaign was unveiled last week. I was hoping for something custom-made, something that would wow, and something that would be age appropriate and suitable for a nominated actress.
This pretty Dior couture gown did that to an extent, the voluminous skirt made a dramatic impact, the colour was girlie and youthful, and the fit was sublime. I worry though that like with Anne Hathaway too much emphasis will be spent comparing it to Gwyneth Paltrow’s pale pink gown that she wore when she won her Oscar.
One thing I do absolutely adore is the simple styling of this gown, the Chopard necklace down her back is delicate and stylish, granted not new, but a trend that done right looks stunning. I also love her smoky eyes and elegant up-do. [Pics: via Oscar.com & Dior]
