We’ve seen Christian Louboutin heels as works of art, gracing the red carpet, and now the famous red soles have been depicted in fishing scenes for the brand’s spring/summer 2013 lookbook shot by Peter Lippmann.

What I love other than the fact it the imagery is eye-catching and makes you double-take, has to be the way the shoes and jewelled clutch really do pop against the haunted-yet-beautiful scenery of the river.

Who would have though that luxury shoes would look incredible displayed as fishing bait?

    I like the idea of this, but those shoes have been photoshopped so severely they look like cartoons! No idea what the real thing would actually look like from these images…

    Thanks for your comment on my post! At first I just thought he hadn’t put much thought into it, and the commenters really pissed me off more. But then his Facebook reaction drove me over the edge. I don’t think he’ll ever learn, but then the story has been picked up by NY Mag, Jezebel, MSN News etc now – so he might have to at least take the post down if he doesn’t want to piss off his multitude of sponsors.

    I am just so bored of uncreative lookbooks that this one really stood out – photoshop has definitely been used but I do love the contrast of the cartoon shoes with the fishing scenery.

    Oh my he is getting more publicity for being ignorant – I wonder if that is actually what he was after? It has been known for bloggers to rant, rave and do inappropriate things for a spike in traffic. I don’t think he will take it down though as he really is so stupid he doesn’t know why it is offensive.
