Where: At the premiere for her new film Spring Breakers at the 69th Annual Venice Film Festival
Wearing: A strapless pale pink leather Atelier Versace gown from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, featuring a stencil design and a dramatic draping that gathered at her hip and then cascaded down her skirt to the side, teamed with a Judith Leiber minaudière and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery
Verdict: On paper, this dress should have been worn by a red carpet big-hitter like Kate Hudson, Diane Kruger, or Penelope Cruz, but some how Selena really makes this exquisite gown work for her.
Last year she was a Disney starlet, cute, adorable but still very much a teenager, this year she really has stepped it up, hitting twenty has turned her into a screen siren in the making for me. I loved her sexy Roberto Cavalli mini she wore the MuchMusic Video Awards, I had serious leg envy when she worked a Versace look to launch her fragrance, but what really made her stand-out for me this year had to be her high-fashion editorial for the July issue of American ELLE – it really showed off her sexy side.
Like with newcomer Maika Monroe who wowed last week in Marchesa, Selena came to Venice and completely stole the show. I love the blush-toned colour of the gown, I love the drama of the side draping, I totally adore her side-swept tousled waves, and I really don’t think her first major appearance at the Venice Film Festival could have gone much better!!!
Do you rate Selena’s look or do you think this dress is a little too mature for her?
