Yesterday I went to check out what treats Lulu Guinness has in store for us all come autumn, and I was blown away by all the quirky details, the luxurious finishes, and gorgeous colours, in a collection inspired by the eclectic book stores on Charing Cross Road and the Audrey Hepburn film, Funny Face and by her ‘Beauty and Brains’ character.
Entitled ‘Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover’ the collection is filled with Lulu Guinness classics as well new designs include two new gorgeous day bags, the Audrey and the Nicola, which come in a variety of colours and leathers, as well as the iconic Lulu Guinness gold lip hardware.
One of my favourite Lulu Guinness clutch styles, the Fifi has been given a doll makeover for autumn/winter, as it will be available in the quirky Doll Face design – this is top of my wishlist. In addition, the classic Lips has added this gorgeous gold number, I still have a soft spot for the candy pink one.
One of my favourite pieces from the collection had to be this souvenir shop box bag, with its I love London, Big Ben, Abbey Road road sign and other London favourites. This was joined by a red telephone box iPhone cover, a tote bag and very patriotic Union Jack lips and a sequinned clutch.
The novelty collection is one of the strongest to date and I am loving that Lulu has decided to revisit her book bags embellished with some of her favourite sayings. I totally want this vibrant pink, Dare to be Different with its embossed gold foiling – so cool.
