Superbowl: Madonna In Givenchy Haute Couture

Madonna really knows how to make an entrance, I absolutely loved her halftime show at the Super Bowl XLVI match between the New York Giants and The Patriots last night. From the word go with her coming on flanked by dancers dressed as gladiators, to the fab performance of ‘Vogue’ – and her amazing wardrobe created exclusively for her by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci – this was a spectacular 12 minute set.

As well as ‘Vogue’, Madonna also delved into her massive archive and sang some of her other hits including ‘Music’ and ‘Like a Prayer’, as well as her new song ‘Give Me All Your Lurvin’, which I have to say isn’t growing on me – yet.

Some people on Twitter were saying that she looked tired and didn’t move great – come on people let’s not forget she is 53-years-old – I thought she worked the performance really well – especially loved her shuffling with LMFAO.

My favourite of the Givenchy Haute Couture looks by Riccardo Tisci had to be the hand-embroidered gold cape that Madonna wore for the performance opener, which was worn over a black mini dress accessories with a hand-studded belt and an exquisite Philip Treacy headpiece.

I also adored this gorgeous embellished black coat with sequins and micro pearls for her divine performance of ‘Like A Prayer’.

What did you think of Madonna’s first performance at the Superbowl?
