I have found another person to add to my wish-list of people I would love to interview, Fabrizio Viti, Louis Vuitton’s shoe style director. Not only do I love shoes, but Fabrizio is a huge doll lover and even uses his dolls as a canvas in designing Louis Vuitton’s fab shoes, which he even customises specially for his dolls.
I’ve only recently come across Louis Vuitton’s online magazine, New, Now, but it is such a great read that I had to share this feature on Fabrizio, and this amazing short stop motion animation created by French design agency Les Courtisans, who kindly sent me the high-res stills from the film – now if only they could send me some miniature LV shoes as well I would be ecstatic!!!
“The creative process works in both directions, either using his dolls as a canvas for experimentation or adapting the Louis Vuitton shoe designs for his dolls. Fabrizio will often custom make shoes for his dolls and this year he made a specific shoe with a platform for one particular doll. After it was made, he liked it so much that he made it into a larger human scale version and it incidentally became the season must have.”
Fabrizio has been collecting dolls since he was three years old, and today he has around 500 pieces – oh to see his dolls house!!!!
After seeing this amazing animation I have to admit I need to invest in some Tonner Dolls they really are exquisite, oh and a few pairs of Louis Vuittons for me and my dolls would do nicely as well. Please Louis Vuitton release doll sized shoes like Louboutin has done for Barbie – starting with the black peep-toe patent number with the bows on!!!
