Golden Globes: Claire Danes In J. Mendel

January 16, 2012

Who: Claire Danes

Where: At the 69th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: A black and ecru couture J. Mendel draped front gown with embroidered cap sleeves, and open back detailing, inspired by a shorter pre-fall 2012 look, teamed with platinum earrings with princess cut diamonds from Bulgari’s High Jewellery Collection and a white gold bracelet with diamonds

Verdict: I love al the crystal embellishment detailing on the shoulders and around the waist – it kind of has a warrior-esq vibe to it – but as Claire rightly put it “is all about the back” I totally agree!!!

So who do you think has the best open back Claire or Zooey?

  • Another day, another blossom tree - there is no such thing as too much blossom, it is seriously pretty.
...
I've been so overwhelmed lately with work, so many deadlines that I'm making an effort to make sure I get out every day and just live, enjoy the beauty of the moment and today's mini adventure was wandering around this beautiful farm taking pictures of blossom. Not going to lie was a great Tuesday!

  • Perfectly, imperfect!
...
I've been thinking about this need to be perfect, to have the most Instagramable picture, background, outfit, home and life, and how exhausting it is trying to keep up with social media expectations.
...
Over the last month or so I've been having more fun with my outfits, shooting more on the go, worrying less about whether it is an outfit that people will like, and how many followers I'm loosing, and I can't tell you how much happier I've felt with my content.
...
We can all get sucked into this Instagram vacuum and the idea of everything being perfect but isn't there something more unique and human about being a little imperfect?
  • I know, Little Bo Peep wants her basket back - but she's out of luck it's mine now!

I might as well warn you all now this might become a repeat offender on my feed I love it. Also, anyone else obsessed with buttons lately? I can't get enough.

Also, hands up who's had a lovely sunny day? Mum and I have had a fab one filled with culture two exhibitions including the new Monet one at The National Gallery that I would definitely recommend and yummy food I treated her to the fabulousness of By Chloe and she loved it - I'm an addict for their guac burger.

  • Spent the day running between press days, check out my stories for a sneak peek at what Boden has coming up for AW18, doing boring errands, trying to transcribe a really difficult interview the designer has a strong accent, and a crazy stack of admin that I sadly can no longer ignore. But hey at least we had sunshine!
...
So kisses with this cutie when I came home was much needed.

Hope you guys had a great day in the sun.
  • Anyone checked the weather like ten times in disbelieve that we actually have sunshine and its only going to get better - like 26 on Thursday in April is amazing and I'm so ready for a little warmth after that never-ending winter.
