LFW SS12: My Fashion Week Snapshots

Sadly this season I only did three days of London Fashion Week as I flew to New York on the Monday. However, I had a jam-packed three days and took in a stack of amazing shows: from the technical beauty of Corrie Nielsen; to the oh I do want to be beside the seaside moment from Holly Fulton; I witnessed the amazing achievements of three fabulous emerging designers at Fashion Fringe, I don’t think I will forget that front row moment or chatting with Claudia Schiffer; the summer neon flashes from Oz designers Sass & Bide; the brilliant execution of romanticism by Bora Aksu; and one of my favourite shows had to the Jena.Theo’s take on the darker side of Hollywood.

There are also lots of shows I still haven’t written about: the Japanese elegance and beauty seen at Lako Bukia’s show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout; the always sophisticated Maria Grachvogel, which once again took place in The Lancaster Ballroom in The Savoy, I am in love with their chandeliers; the prints of Basso & Brooke; the collaborations galore at PPQ; sweeties and seaside dreams of Daks; as well as a look at all my favourites, which hopefully one day I will get an invite to, House of Holland, Jonathan Saunders, Giles, Peter Pilotto, Erdem and of course the celebtastic Burberry. All coming, I promise, I am just on a bit of a catch up from New York and my HTC Adventure, which I still have to bring you guys as well, truly all worth the wait!!!

So before I joined the world of HTC, my Blackberry was attached to my hand at all times during London Fashion Week and here are a few snaps I took along the way.

Each season I always seem to bump into a completely uninterested Boris Johnson, looking more and more dopey as the years go by, what ever did Erin O’Connor do to deserve this, especially in that gorgeous PPQ striped dress.

First celeb spot, other than Boris and Erin of course went to Laura Whitmore for the Paul Costelloe show.

Normally you don’t find the time to eat during fashion week, thankfully this season the lovely Forward PR, Corrie Nielsen and Starbucks thought of that and provided us with a lovely brekkie box full of cakes, which were delicious.

My partner in crime during the whole time was the amazing Alexandra Vanthournout aka Alex Loves, who as well as doing her blog she also writes for ELLE Belgium, so she was super busy and it was a pleasure tagging along. I have loved fashion weeks before, but I have never enjoyed them as much. I don’t know why but this season I felt like I actually belonged, I knew people, I had great tickets, great seats, and most of all enjoyed myself so much.

One of the things I love about LFW is that you get to have fun with your pals, pick up amazing magazines, and take as many pictures as you like!!! The lovely Lois aka Bunni Punch catches up on Phoenix on the fashion bus, which by the way I didn’t know existing until this season.

Bora Aksu just seemed to wow me into taking so many snaps, not only was I tweeting the looks, I also way too many on my new Olympus camera, it was just simply breathtaking and picture perfect.

Best invites for me was a tie, I know most will say Mulberry but hey I wasn’t invited and I am not one of those bloggers who lie and say I did, for me Sass & Bide’s metal sheet invite was pretty cool, as was Daks’ pop-up ferris wheel.

My first and only show that I seemed to get to at Vauxhall Fashion Scout was to check out my Twitter pal Lako Bukia, and I was seriously impressed. My full report is to come, but I loved all the Japanese inspired prints.

Fashion Fringe was one of the best experiences as they really embraced bloggers this season, and we got to hang out backstage before the finale. Alex ‘don’t touch this’ working the Samsung Blogger Bar with Daniela from Couture & Crumpets and Kristabel from I Want You To Know, check out her knitted skirt she designed that you know – LOVED it!!

At Fashion Fringe I also got to meet Corrie Nielsen, not only was she adorable, but she was saying how she had read our blogs, and how Alex had inspired her choice of footwear for her SS12 show.

Day 3 was all about Holly Fulton for me, I adore her work, and it was so cool to see that Hilary Alexander also does as she looked fab in this maxi dress outside the main tent.

There was always something going on outside Somerset House, whether it was people getting style papped *never happens to me*, or people giving out free magazines, my favourite had to be the free ice-cream from Haagen Dazs  just loved their cute hats.

Just before the madness of London Fashion Week for me came to a close, I went to lunch with the very cute Reena Rai from Fashion Daydreams and Alex before heading home to pack. Maybe due to exhaustion, starvation and a little insanity that comes with fashion week, things kind of went Oooh!!!
