Hot Trend: Palazzo Pants – Trouser Of The Season

ASOS - £40

So for spring/summer 2011 you may have noticed that skinny is out and wide is in, and when you are looking at Palazzo Pants, the wider the better!! However, when you suggest wide trousers, I think most are a little scared to give them a go as they think they are going to make them look bigger than they are, however Palazzo Pants are surprisingly flattering.

Seen at many SS11 shows, from floral beauties at D&G to gorgeous pleated ones at Richard Nicoll. The high street has ones to suit everyone at the moment.

Still feeling unsure? Well follow these tips and embrace this fluid style – trust me you will love it, from the swish as you walk to the comfort.

Shoes: Palazzo is all about the 7os vibe, so embrace it with sticking to wedges or chunky heeled shoes, go for height and they will make your legs look like they go on for miles.

Tuck in or belt up: It is all about defining your waist to balance your sihouette, so think pussy-bow blouses, vest and camisole two-pieces, or just go for a simple tee tucked in.

Finishing touches: To take off the summer chill pair with a leather jacket or a cropped blazer for a more tailored look. I would also recommend chunky bangles and jewellery for a great 70s look.

Top picks: My favourite has to be the ASOS Palazzo Pants (above), £40 –  I love the high waist design with double buttoned waistband, added together with the pleated front they reeally are divine. What makes them even better, well the price for one very reasonable at £40, but they also come in three different colours: Withered Rose (pictured), Jade and Olive.

Dorothy Perkins - £35

Dots aren’t going away any time soon, so why not pick up these black spot palazzo trousers from Dorothy Perkins for £35.

River Island - £34.99

When it comes to floral prints I think these River Island blue floral print belted palazzo trousers are one of my favourites, only £34.99, and comes with a perfect belt. Wear with a black tee for simple-yet-comfortable.

Matalan - £16

If the River Island aren’t wider enough, or even bolder enough in the flower stakes then you have to go for these great value ones from Matalan. These Papaya print trousers are only £16.

New Look - £28.99

But if like me you need to work you way up to bold prints, check out New Look who have some amazing block colour ones. My pick has to be these Crepe Wide Leg Trousers in magenta, only £28.99, and they even come in coral.

So which ones are you going to go for?
