LFW SS11: House of Holland Goes For a Seventies Vibe

Love, love, love the spring/summer 2011 collection from Henry Holland, entitled Something With A Fringe On Top, this was his most complete collection to date. Taking inspiration from 1970s disco, Xanadu and South Beach after dark, this collection had a Brooke Shields, bronzed goddess vibe about it.

Sometimes I felt that the blondes were very Barbie like *yep I had to go there*, but come on check out the blonde below with her sunglasses, wavy locks and denim playsuit, I would totally love it if Henry Holland collaborated with Mattel on a line – I would buy them all up!!!

This collection was filled with fun items from the bright fringingand pom pom earrings to the banana leaf prints and towelling accessories. But what surprised me was the tailored looks with handkerchief hems, cropped t-shirts, capri pants, playsuits, hotpants, bell-sleeved cropped blouse, leather jackets and the use of different types of fabrics from denim, pleated leather, printed silk, knit and chiffon.

The pieces which stood out most for me were the pleated dresses and skirts, the seventies gold brocade dress and the bright banana prints.
