Selfridges is definatley the complete department store in London, it gives you great collections, service, and cakes, and now they’ve add exhibitions, as this week it opened a retrospective of Vivienne Westwood’s most iconic shoes that she has designed over the past five decades.
The exhibition Vivienne Westwood Shoes, An Exhibition 1973 – 2010, runs until September 22, on the lower ground floor at the Ultralounge and features everything from the Pirate Boot, first seen in 1981 to the Sahara Plimsoll of 1999. It also includes the most famous items such as this one from her back catalogue made famous by Naomi Campbell falling on the catwalk, the purple Mock-Crock Elevated Gilllies from 1993.
I can’t wait to check out the masses of iconic footwear next week on my lunch, Vivienne Westwood is a designer I have always admired and to own a pair of her shoes is on my ultimate wish-list. Will you be visiting this exhibit?
