This season’s influences have come from the 1930s comic book Dick Tracey, in both cut and colours. I love the cuts from the 30s and 40s and this comes across in her draping, less bodycon than last season, and more “fluidity” she describes in the her narration of the process.
The rich colour palette of red, turquoise and sapphire will work well on the red carpet, the market place she is surely going for, especially for those wanting to make a statement, but Victoria also caters well for those staying safe with a host of black options.
As always, she is her own muse – and she has even picked out her Oscar dress from her new line, this gorgeous floor-length nude dress.
She may have once been described as a popstar-turned-designer but I think she can forget about that – Victoria is cemented herself as the real-deal.
I love every piece of this collection and can’t wait to see which celebrities get hold of the frocks first, I am sure we will see them jetting into LAX and London Heathrow on Victoria of course, but I wonder if anyone will wear one of hers to the Oscars??
I would also love to see Victoria do a full-on runway show as I know it would be a spectacle.
